The article describes the decontamination and regeneration process of the Eternitten district, an abandoned industrial complex for the production of cement and asbestos south of Aalborg, in a new multifunctional and sustainable neighbourhood. The goal of public health prevention is not only to increase life expectancy, but also to improve the quality of life. It is therefore necessary to highlight the importance of the social opportunities available to the individual, that is, the ability to build relationships, cultivate interests, attend cultural events and lead a healthy lifestyle. Urban habitats, the main environments for socializing but also for spreading contagion (as the Covid-19 pandemic highlighted), must be remodelled to ensure public health. Kotkan kaupungin ilmasto- ja energiatyö suhteessa Aalborgin sitoumuksiin

Tässä tapaustutkimuksessa arvioidaan Kotkan kaupungin ilmasto- ja energiatyötä suhteessa Aalborgin sitoumuksiin. Tutkimusote on laadullinen, aineistona toimivat dokumentit ja haastattelut. Haastattelut on toteutettu avoimina haastatteluina pohjaten Aalborgin sitoumuksiin. Aineistojen analyyseissa on käytetty sisällönanalyysia. Tutkimuksessa arvioitiin jokaisen käsitellyn 38 Aalborgin sitoumuksen kohdan toteutuminen täysin, osittain tai ei ollenkaan. Kolme kohtaa täyttyi kokonaan, yksi ei ollenkaan ja loput 34 osittain. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan Alvar Aallon vuosien 1928 – 1958 välillä suunnittelemia museorakennuksia käyttäen apuna historiallis-vertailevaa metodia. Tavoitteena on ollut aikaisemmista tutkimuksista poiketen koota yhteen Aallon museosuunnitelmien kolme ensimmäistä vuosikymmentä aikaisempaa laajemmin. Myöhäisempi tuotanto on rajattu pois aineiston laajuuden vuoksi. Tutkimuksessa käsiteltyjä museosuunnitelmia ovat Perniön museo (1928–29), Tallinnan taidemuseo (1936–37), Johnson-konsernin Vuoriteollisuus- ja Merenkulkumuseot Ruotsin Avestaan (1944), Bagdadin taidemuseo (1957–58), Keski-Suomen museo Jyväskylässä (1957–61) ja Aalborgin taidemuseo (1957–58, rakennettiin 1968–72).
