On Schunck Classes of Finite Groups with Cover and Avoidance Property on Abelian Chief Factors
2006
The main aim of this article is to obtain the characterization of local Schunck classes of finite groups whose projectors have the cover and avoidance property on Abelian chief factors.
On the Fundamental Theorem of Finite Abelian Groups
2003

GEOMETRIC EQUIVALENCE OF ALGEBRAS
2001
In this paper, we study the geometric equivalence of algebras in several varieties of algebras. We solve some of the problems formulated in [2], in particular, that of geometric equivalence for real-closed fields and finitely generated commutative groups.
Nilpotent and abelian Hall subgroups in finite groups
2015
[EN] We give a characterization of the finite groups having nilpotent or abelian Hall pi-subgroups that can easily be verified using the character table.
Partial {$*$}-algebras of closable operators. II. States and representations of partial {$*$}-algebras
1991
This second paper on partial Op*-algebras is devoted to the theory of representations. A new definition of invariant positive sesquilinear forms on partial *-algebras is proposed, which enables to perform the familiar GNS construction. In order to get a better control of the corresponding representations, we introduce and study a restricted class of partial Op*-algebras, called partial GW*-algebras, which turn up naturally in a number of problems. As an example, we extend Powers' results about the standardness of GNS representations of abelian partial *-algebras.
Sui gruppi unitari finitari e sulla congettura di dieudonné
1996
In this paper we consider some questions concerning unitary spaces (V, h), even though (V, h) is not finitely generated.
Perron type integral on compact zero-dimensional Abelian groups
2008
Perron and Henstock type integrals defined directly on a compact zero-dimensional Abelian group are studied. It is proved that the considered Perron type integral defined by continuous majorants and minorants is equivalent to the integral defined in the same way, but without assumption on continuity of majorants and minorants.
Construction of Fibred Categories
2019
In Section 5, we introduce methods from classical homological algebra (i.e. using mostly the language of derived categories of abelian categories and their Verdier quotients) to construct the main examples of premotivic categories of interest in this book, while, in Section 6, we study how to check that the localization axiom holds in practice. Section 7 is devoted to the process of obtaining new fibred categories from old ones, by considering homotopy theoretic modules over a ring object.
Abelian realization of phenomenological two-zero neutrino textures
2014
In an attempt at explaining the observed neutrino mass-squared differences and leptonic mixing, lepton mass matrices with zero textures have been widely studied. In the weak basis where the charged lepton mass matrix is diagonal, various neutrino mass matrices with two zeros have been shown to be consistent with the current experimental data. Using the canonical and Smith normal form methods, we construct the minimal Abelian symmetry realizations of these phenomenological two-zero neutrino textures. The implementation of these symmetries in the context of the seesaw mechanism for Majorana neutrino masses is also discussed.
Homomorphs and wreath product extensions
1982
A homomorph is a class of (finite soluble) groups closed under the operation Q of taking epimorphic images. (All groups considered in this paper are finite and soluble.) Among those types of homomorphs that have found particular interest in the theory of finite soluble groups are formations and Schunck classes; the reader is referred to (2), § 2, for a definition of those classes. In the present paper we are interested in homomorphs satisfying the following additional closure property:(W0) if A is abelian with elementary Sylow subgroups, then each wreath product A G (with respect to an arbitrary permutation representation of G) with G ∊ is contained in .
