Interferon beta-1a (IFNβ-1a) is a recombinant IFNβ with the tradename Rebif involved in several biological activities. Recently, it has been reported that artificial deamidation of IFNb-1a increases its biological response. Given the therapeutical potential, an investigation on the deamidated variant has been carried out via different approaches to discover the mechanism underlying this biological effect. The reaction of 4-aminopyridine (4-AP) with ICl in a 1:1 molar ratio in CH2Cl2 produced the expected charge-transfer complex [4-NH2-1λ4-C5H4N-1-ICl] (1·ICl) and the ionic species [(4-NH2-1λ4-C5H4N)2-1μ-I+][Cl–] (2·Cl–) in a 2:1 relation, as indicated by 1H NMR spectroscopy in solution. In contrast, only the ionic compound [(4-NH2-1λ4-C5H4N)2-1μ-I+][IBr2–] (2·IBr2–) was observed in the analogous reaction with IBr. Current physical activity guidelines are focused on promoting weekly accumulation of at least 150 min of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity (MVPA). Abstract The reactivity of E- and Z-phenylhydrazones of 3-benzoyl-5-phenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole in the presence of CuCl2 and Cu(ClO4)2·6H2O has been studied in four imidazolium ionic liquids [bmim][X] (X=BF4−, PF6−, SbF6− and CF3SO3−). The reaction may follow different mechanistic patterns, depending on the nature of the ionic liquid anion, accounting for both qualitative and kinetic data. [reaction: see text] The kinetics of the rearrangement of the Z-phenylhydrazone of 3-benzoyl-5-phenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole (1a) into the relevant 4-benzoylamino-2,5-diphenyl-1,2,3-triazole (2a) induced by amines have been studied in two room-temperature ionic liquids (IL-1, [BMIM][BF4] and IL-2, [BMIM][PF6]). The data collected show that the reaction occurs faster in ionic liquids than in other conventional solvents previously studied (both polar or apolar, protic or aprotic). Presumably, this could depend on their peculiar ability to minimize the strong substrate-solvent, amine-solvent and amine-amine interactions occurring in conventional solvents.

We investigated the role of teenage everyday social ties in educational outcomes by examining the association between teenage time use and educational attainment in adulthood. The sample consisted of young people aged 10–18 from the 1979 Finnish Time Use Survey, and the same respondents’ educational attainment later in life recorded from population register data at the year of 40th birthday (n = 366 men and 393 women). We assessed the associations of time spent with the parents, on studying, leisure activities, as well as social connectedness with friends and participation in extracurricular activities, with educational outcomes.
