Physical activity does not inevitably improve quality of life in young adults with type 1 diabetes

Relationships between exercise, glucose control and diabetes dependent quality of life (DDQoL) are not straightforward. We investigated the DDQoL of 99 persons with type 1 diabetes and linked it to individual amount of weekly physical activity and HbA1c. Physically active lifestyle was not associated with better DDQoL or glucose control. peerReviewed

Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeri Sanni Grahn-Laasonen asetti syksyllä 2017 lukutaitofoorumin, jonka tehtävänä oli laatia lasten ja nuorten lukemisharrastuksen ja lukutaidon kehittämisen suuntaviivat (OKM/97/040/2017, asettamispäätös). Lukutaitofoorumi julkaisi suosituksensa 14.9., ja jatkaa toimintaansa vuoden 2018 loppuun. Tässä artikkelissa kuvaamme foorumin työskentelyä sekä suosituksia. Aims of this study were to identify student clusters in physical appearance, sport competence, global physical self-concept and self-esteem, and to examine whether different physical self-concept groups differ in their moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and sedentary behaviour. Participants of the study were 211 boys and 183 girls aged 13-16 years. MVPA and sedentary behaviour were monitored by GT3X accelerometers during seven days. Nilkka-olkavarsipainesuhteen ja verisuonten jäykkyyden yhteys hengitys- ja verenkiertoelimistön kuntoon sekä vapaa-ajan fyysiseen aktiivisuuteen tyypin 1 diabetesta sairastavilla miehillä. Johdanto. Tyypin 1 diabetesta sairastavilla valtimosairauksien riski on huomattavasti kohonnut verrattuna henkilöihin, joilla ei ole diabetesta.
