Diet Macronutrient Composition, Physical Activity, and Body Composition in Soldiers During 6 Months Deployment

2019

Introduction: Optimal diet together with good physical fitness maintains readiness and military performance during longer deployments. The purpose of this study was to describe changes in dietary macronutrient and energy intake, total physical activity and body composition during a 6-month deployment in South Lebanon. Furthermore, associations of diet macronutrient intake and physical activity on body composition were also studied. - Materials and Methods: Forty male soldiers kept a 3-day food diary and their body composition was measured via bioimpedance and ultrasonography. Total physical activity was evaluated by accelerometers in a subgroup of participants. Measurements were conducted i…

Iodine(I) and Silver(I) Complexes Incorporating 3-Substituted Pyridines

2023

Building upon the first report of a 3-acetaminopyridine-based iodine(I) complex (1b) and its unexpected reactivity toward tBuOMe, several new 3-substituted iodine(I) complexes (2b–5b) have been synthesized. The iodine(I) complexes were synthesized from their analogous silver(I) complexes (2a–5a) via a silver(I) to iodine(I) cation exchange reaction, incorporating functionally related substituents as 3-acetaminopyridine in 1b; 3-acetylpyridine (3-Acpy; 2), 3-aminopyridine (3-NH2py; 3), and 3-dimethylaminopyridine (3-NMe2py; 4), as well as the strongly electron-withdrawing 3-cyanopyridine (3-CNpy; 5), to probe the possible limitations of iodine(I) complex formation. The individual properties …

Zastosowanie metody TDABC do szacowania kosztów działań informacyjnych pośredników w obrocie nieruchomościami

2016

W niniejszej pracy do szacowania kosztów działań informacyjnych pośredników w obrocie nieruchomościami wykorzystano metodę TDABC.

An Automatic Ontology-Based Approach to Support Logical Representation of Observable and Measurable Data for Healthy Lifestyle Management: Proof-of-C…

2020

Background Lifestyle diseases, because of adverse health behavior, are the foremost cause of death worldwide. An eCoach system may encourage individuals to lead a healthy lifestyle with early health risk prediction, personalized recommendation generation, and goal evaluation. Such an eCoach system needs to collect and transform distributed heterogenous health and wellness data into meaningful information to train an artificially intelligent health risk prediction model. However, it may produce a data compatibility dilemma. Our proposed eHealth ontology can increase interoperability between different heterogeneous networks, provide situation awareness, help in data integration, and discover…

On the degree of binder activity of reclaimed asphalt and degree of blending with recycling agents

2020

It is common practice to assume full blending of the aged binder of reclaimed asphalt (RA) within the design of new asphalt mixtures. Although being practical, this assumption has often led designers to asphalt mixtures lacking binder. Hence, going towards recycled asphalt mixtures (RAM) there is a need to have a better understanding of the blending phenomena, to have a general agreement on terminology and finally adapting RA classification and mix design procedures accordingly. This manuscript aims at being both a reference and stimulus for the scientific community to work in this direction and on this basis provides a nomenclature and a theoretical framework of the blending phenomena. The…

L'attività normativa del Governo nel periodo 2013-2016

2021

The article describes the le…

L'attività normativa del governo nel periodo 2009-2012

2020

The article describes the legislative and regulatory activity of Government in the period 2009-2012. There have been numerous efforts to contain the public expenditure, aimed at achieving the substantial correction of the trend in public finances. The liberalization policy was strate…

Antitumor Effect of Cabozantinib in Bone Metastatic Models of Renal Cell Carcinoma

2021

Background: The presence of bone metastases in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) negatively affects patients’ survival. Data from clinical trials has highlighted a significant benefit of cabozantinib in bone metastatic RCC patients. Here, we evaluated the antitumor effect of cabozantinib in coculture models of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and osteoblasts (OBs) to investigate whether and how its antiproliferative activity is influenced by OBs. Methods: Bone/RCC models were generated, coculturing green fluorescent protein (GFP)-tagged Caki-1 and 786-O cells with human primary OBs in a “cell–cell contact” system. RCC proliferation and the OB molecular profile were evaluated after the cabozantinib treat…

Research on Service-Learning in Physical Activity and Sport: Where We Have Been, Where We Are, Where We Are Going

2022

Higher education is under constant transformation through the use of new pedagogical models such as university service-learning (SL). Indeed, there has been an exponential uptake of university SL, among others, in the field of physical activity and sport (PAS) along with research examining these practices. However, these initiatives highlight the need to improve the quality of research in this field. This paper presents a systematic review focused on how research in this arena has been carried out, examining the following topics: paradigm, methods, instruments, discipline, limitations, and further research. A total of 45 articles met the inclusion criteria. The results show that qualitative…
