Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL, a.k.a Lnc2) is a member of the lipocalin family and has diverse roles. NGAL can stabilize matrix metalloproteinase-9 from autodegradation. Our aim was to investigate u-NGAL, u-KIM1 and p-FGF23 and prediction of decline in kidney function in type 2 diabetic patients with proteinuria.We performed a follow-up study, follow-up median (range) 3.5 (1-5) years. OBJECTIVES To investigate the recovery of pancreatic function after severe acute biliary pancreatitis (ABP), especially the influence of necrosectomy on endocrine and exocrine functions. METHODS Prospective cohort study including 39 patients with severe ABP. According to need or no need for surgical necrosectomy, patients were further subdivided into 2 groups. The prognosis of patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI), according to the new criteria for impaired fasting glucose (IFG) (FG 100-126 mg/dl), has not been evaluated.A total of 2353 patients with acute MI and surviving at d 5 after admission were analyzed for short-term morbidity and mortality. Hydroxychloroquine has been proposed for the cure of the COVID-19 due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-viral action. People with diabetes are more prone to severe outcome if affected by COVID-19 and the use of Hydroxychloroquine might have some benefit in this setting. However, the use of Hydroxychloroquine in diabetes deserves particular attention for its documented hypoglycemic action.
