Estudio del mecanismo de reacción e inhibición de cisteína proteasas mediante métodos multiescala

En esta tesis doctoral se realizaron estudios computacionales para las enzimas caspasa-1 y la 3CLpro del SARS-CoV-2. Estas enzimas pertenecen a la familia de las cisteína proteasas, las cuales hidrolizan sus respectivos sustratos rompiendo un enlace peptídico en particular. En esta reacción interviene una diada catalítica conformada por un par Cis-His. La caspasa-1 fue seleccionada debido a su importancia farmacológica en la enfermedad de Alzheimer, y la enzima 3CLpro del SARS-CoV-2 por estar involucrada en el proceso de replicación del virus responsable de la enfermedad del COVID-19. Can we automate expert-based journal rankings? Analysis of the Finnish publication indicator

The publication indicator of the Finnish research funding system is based on a manual ranking of scholarly publication channels. These ranks, which represent the evaluated quality of the channels, are continuously kept up to date and thoroughly reevaluated every four years by groups of nominated scholars belonging to different disciplinary panels. This expert-based decision-making process is informed by available citation-based metrics and other relevant metadata characterizing the publication channels. Maģistra darbs veltīts dokumentu piegādes izpētei, īpašu uzmanību pievēršot situācijām, kad tiesvedības procesa dalībnieki atrodas dažādās valstīs, un dokumenti nepieciešami valstī, kurā nenotiek tiesvedības process. Darbā tiek aplūkoti un analizēti dokumentu piegādes veidi un to īpatnības. Darba izpētes gaitā autore pēta civilprocesuālās sadarbības nozīmi dokumentu piegādes un izsniegšanas procesā, kā arī dokumentu piegādes un izsniegšanas lomu tiesvedības procesā. Study of morphology, mechanical properties and thermal degradation of titania-polycarbonate nanocomposites as function of crystalline phase and amount

Titania nanoparticles were prepared using a sol–gel method and calcination at 2008C and 6008C to obtain anatase and rutile phases, respectively. The obtained powders were used to prepare polycarbonate (PC)-titania nanocomposites by melt compounding. The effect of different crystalline phases and amounts of titania, in the range 1–5 wt%, on the morphology, mechanical properties, and thermal degradation kinetics of PC was investigated. The results show that the filler modified the plasticity or rigidity of the polymer and influenced the degradation kinetics, in different ways depending on the type and amount of titania.

Photolytic and TiO2-Assisted Photodegradation of Aqueous Solutions of Tetracycline

Aqueous solutions of tetracycline were UV-irradiated in homogeneous and heterogeneous systems. Tetracycline disappeared in both systems, but the presence of TiO2 accelerated the photodegradation of the antibiotic in comparison with direct photolysis. The rate of decomposition was dependent on the concentration of tetracycline and its degradation on the surface of TiO2 can be described by means of a pseudo-first order kinetics. Photolysis involved only the photodeamination of tetracycline and a partial mineralization. Unlikely, the treatment with TiO2 and UV-light resulted in a complete mineralization of the antibiotic drug.

The framework of embodied cognition has challenged the modular view of a language-cognition divide by suggesting that meaning-retrieval critically involves the sensory-motor system. Despite extensive research into the neural mechanisms underlying language-motor coupling, it remains unclear how the motor system might be differentially engaged by different levels of linguistic abstraction and language proficiency.
