[Background] Approximately 30% of tumor biopsies from patients with advanced-stage lung adenocarcinomas yield insufficient tissue for successful molecular subtyping. Prognostic value of Thyroid Transcription Factor-1 expression in lung adenocarcinoma in patients treated with anti PD-1/PD-L1.

ABSTRACT Anti-PD1/PD-L1-directed immune checkpoint inhibitors are game changers in advanced non-small-cell lung cancer, but biomarkers are lacking. The aim of our study was to find clinically relevant biomarkers of the efficacy of ICI in non-squamous NSCLC. We conducted a retrospective study of patients receiving ICI for advanced non squamous NSCLC in two cohorts. For a subset of patients, RNAseq data were generated on tumor biopsy taken before ICI. The primary end point was progression-free survival under ICI. Secondary end point was overall survival from ICI initiation. In the cohort, we studied 231 patients. Proteomic analysis of tyrosine phosphorylation induced by exogenous expression of oncogenic kinase fusions identified in lung adenocarcinoma.

Kinase fusions are considered oncogenic drivers in numerous types of cancer. In lung adenocarcinoma 5-10% of patients harbor kinase fusions. The most frequently detected kinase fusion involves the Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK) and Echinoderm Microtubule-associated protein-Like 4 (EML4). In addition, oncogenic kinase fusions involving the tyrosine kinases RET and ROS1 are found in smaller subsets of patients. Choroidal metastasis from lung adenocarcinoma: a rare case report.

The choroid is the most common site for intraocular metastatic di sease. Orbital metastasis as metastatic site of lung adenocarcinoma is very rare and in literature a very exiguous number of cases is present. This is a case report of a woman with history of lung adenocarcinoma and, after surgery, detection of a choroidal mass described as lung metastasis, responding to Gefinitib therapy. However a biopsy was not performed. After two years there was a great dimension decrement of the lung metastasis but she is still suffering from recurrent pleural effusion, with pleural thickenings biopsied and diagnosed as recurrences of disease.
