Sustainable Food Consumption Practices: How Marketing can Contribute to Institutional Change

International audience; Over the past 20 years, health and environmental issues have led to the reshaping of a more sustainable or resilient agriculture and to increased sales of organic and local products. However, organic food accounts for only $4 billion in Canada, barely 2 to 3% of total annual food consumption, and direct-to-consumer markets represent only 3% of Quebecers' food consumption. As sustainable consumption patterns became more prevalent, the food retail landscape had to adapt and has dramatically changed. Thus, Walmart is the largest retailer of organic products in Canada. International audience; Nous étudions l'impact de la composition des comités stratégiques sur la priorité donnée à l'innovation par les entreprises. Nous supposons que l'importance accordée à la connaissance est prioritaire dans les entreprises mettant l'accent sur la R&D. Les caractéristiques de 75 administrateurs membres des comités stratégiques des entreprises à forte innovation sont comparées à celles de 69 administrateurs membres des comités stratégiques des entreprises à faible innovation, toutes étant des sociétés françaises cotées sur le marché parisien.

Media play an important role in crises in particular these touching on value creation and on value distribution. The objective of this article is to propose a conceptual framework for an explanation of the role of press as a mechanism of corporate governance of the stakeholder approach. This role is analysed with a case study based on the conflict setting Danone Group against its stakeholders during its reorganization in 2001. We find that press is an efficient mechanism of corporate governance of the stakeholder approach.
