Demanda de autonomía en la relación entre los adolescentes y sus padres: normalización del conflicto

In a family setting, disagreements between parents and their teenage children are commonplace. This study seeks to measure a teenager’s degree of independence alongside their level of communication with their parents in order to identify the most relevant factors in this relationship and to understand its signifi cance. The study shows that teenagers exhibit a marked tendency to seek increased independence as they develop, although their parents may measure the speed at which their children mature differently. Research usually analyzed the relationships between acculturation or perceived discrimination and immigrants’ well-being, but few studies used an integrative perspective. Framed from a person-oriented approach, the current paper tried to advance the literature examining how acculturation profiles and perceived (group and personal) discrimination were associated with psychosocial well-being in a sample of 348 Tunisian adolescents (females = 48.28%; mean age = 15.72) living in southern Italy. Promoting sixth graders’ credibility evaluation of Web pages: An intervention study

Abstract This study investigated whether a teacher-led intervention program on online inquiry improved sixth graders' performance in a credibility evaluation task. Students (N = 342) were divided into two conditions, an intervention group (190 students) and a control group (152 students). The intervention program (21 × 45 min lessons) was implemented during a six-week course as a part of normal schoolwork. The mediating role of optimism in the relations between sense of coherence, subjective and psychological well-being among late adolescents

Abstract The purpose of this study was to examine whether optimism is a mediator between sense of coherence, subjective well-being and psychological well-being among late adolescents. Two hundred and eleven participants completed the Sense of Coherence Scale, the Life Orientation Test-Revised, the Satisfaction With Life Scale, the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule, and the Psychological Well-Being Scale. Background: Emotional dysregulation and impaired attachment are potential contributors to the development of psychopathology in adolescence. This raises the question of whether oxytocin (OT), the paradigmatic “attachment hormone,” may be beneficial in such contexts.
