This study investigated the extent to which a sample of Italian users comprehended safety pictorials used on agricultural machinery. A questionnaire with 12 safety pictorials was administered to 248 users of agricultural machinery. For each of the pictorials, the participants were asked to select the most appropriate description of four written choices. The investigated safety pictorials were, in general, not well comprehended. Two different classes of participants were identified, each with a different level of comprehension. Preemptive antiviral therapy strategies for active cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection occurring in allogeneic stem cell transplant recipients should be optimized to avoid overtreatment. Background The functional profile of cytomegalovirus (CMV)-specific CD8+ T cells that associate with protection from and control of CMV DNAemia in allogeneic stem cell transplant (allo-SCT) recipients remains incompletely characterized. Methods We enumerated pp65 and immediate early (IE)-1-specific CD8+ T cells expressing interferon-gamma, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and CD107a, by flow cytometry in 94 patients at days +30 and +60 after allo-SCT. Rubinstein–Taybi syndrome (RSTS) is a rare, clinically heterogeneous disorder characterized by cognitive impairment and several multiple congenital anomalies. The syndrome is caused by almost private point mutations in the CREBBP (~55 % of cases) and EP300 (~8 %) genes. The CREBBP mutational spectrum is variegated and characterized by point mutations (30–50 %) and deletions (~10 %). The latter are diverse in size and genomic position and remove either the whole CREBBP gene and its flanking regions or only an intragenic portion.
