”En ny hverdag”. Mødres opplevelse av hverdagen med et prematurt barn, og støtten ved en ressurshelsestasjon
2015
The study explores mothers’ of premature infants experience of how health centers especially adapted for families with premature infants can help them to cope with everyday life after discharge from a neonatal intensive care unit. Background: Premature children are at higher risk for physical and mental health problems, which makes parenting demanding. The transition between hospital and home is a challenging period where parents may need extra support to cope with everyday life. Method: Nine mothers of premature infants receiving follow-up care at a health center especially adapted for families with premature infants were interviewed. Data were analyzed by Kvale and Brinkmann’s guidelines …
Oxidized Albumin and Cartilage Acidic Protein-1 as Blood Biomarkers to Predict Ischemic Stroke Outcomes.
2021
Background: There is high demand for blood biomarkers that reflect the therapeutic response or predict the outcomes of patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS); however, few biomarkers have been evidentially verified to date. This study evaluated two proteins, oxidized albumin (OxHSA) and cartilage acidic protein-1 (CRTAC1), as potential prognostic markers of AIS.Methods: The ratio of OxHSA to normal albumin (%OxHSA) and the level of CRTAC1 in the sera of 74 AIS patients were analyzed on admission (day 0), and at 1 and 7 days after admission. AIS patients were divided into two groups according to their modified Rankin Scale (mRS) at 3 months after discharge: the low-mRS (mRS < 2) gr…
Holmium Laser Endoureterotomy With the Lovaco Technique for the Treatment of Ureterointestinal Stenosis: Step by step.
2018
Abstract Objective To describe holmium laser endoureterotomy with the Lovaco technique for the treatment of ureterointestinal stenosis. This common problem after cystectomy represents a surgical challenge, with endourological techniques being useful in this context. We present a technique that has been described before, but which we consider useful and decisive. The key points and difficult aspects of the technique are shown, along with our experience with it. Methods We collected data on cases of ureterointestinal stenosis treated using holmium laser endoureterotomy with the Lovaco technique, in a prospective manner, between January 2017 and January 2018. Intraoperative data, postoperative…
Using information and communication technology in the recovery after a coronary artery bypass graft surgery: patients’ attitudes
2018
Jan Gunnar Dale,1 Elin Midthus,2 Bjørg Dale3 1University of Agder, Institute of Health and Nursing Science, Grimstad, Norway; 2LHL Hospital Gardermoen, Jessheim, Norway; 3Centre for Care Research, Southern Norway, University of Agder, Grimstad, Norway Background: Patients who have undergone a coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery are exposed to physical and mental problems after discharge from the specialist hospital and are often in need of post-discharge support and follow-up. Aim: This study aimed to explore the attitudes of CABG patients toward using information and communication technology (ICT) during the first year of recovery after discharge from hospital. Methods: …
Prognostic value of NT-proBNP and CA125 across glomerular filtration rate categories in acute heart failure.
2021
This study aimed to evaluate whether glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) during admission modifies the predictive value of plasma amino-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125) in patients hospitalized for acute heart failure (AHF).We retrospectively evaluated 4595 patients consecutively discharged after admission for AHF at three tertiary-care hospitals from January 2008 through October 2019. To investigate the effect of kidney function on the association of NT-proBNP and CA125 with 1-year mortality (all-cause and cardiovascular mortality), we stratified patients according to four eGFR categories:30 mL•minAt 1-year follow-up, 748 of 4595 (16.3%)…
