Comprehensive analysis of interacting proteins and genome-wide location studies of the Sas3-dependent NuA3 histone acetyltransferase complex
2014
Highlights • We characterise Sas3p and Gcn5p active HAT complexes in WT and deleted TAP-strains. • We confirm that Pdp3p interacts with NuA3, histones and chromatin regulators. • Pdp3p MS-analysis reveals its phosphorylation, ubiquitination and methylation. • Sas3p can substitute Gcn5p in acetylation of histone H3K14 but not of H3K9. • Genome-wide profiling of Sas3p supports its involvement in transcriptional elongation.
Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia Mechanisms in Young Obese Subjects
2020
Autonomic nervous system (ANS) activity and imbalance between its sympathetic and parasympathetic components are important factors contributing to the initiation and progression of many cardiovascular disorders related to obesity. The results on respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) magnitude changes as a parasympathetic index were not straightforward in previous studies on young obese subjects. Considering the potentially unbalanced ANS regulation with impaired parasympathetic control in obese patients, the aim of this study was to compare the relative contribution of baroreflex and non-baroreflex (central) mechanisms to the origin of RSA in obese vs. control subjects. To this end, we applied…
HAWC Gamma-Ray survey, AGNs at TeV photon energies
2022
The High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) Gamma-Ray Observatory continuously detects TeV photons and particles within its large field of view, accumulating every day a deeper exposure of two-thirds of the sky. We analyzed 1523days of HAWC live data acquired over four and a half years, in a follow-up analysis of 138 nearby (z<0.3) active galactic nuclei from the Third Catalog of Hard Fermi-LAT sources culminating within 40{deg} of the zenith at Sierra Negra, the HAWC site. This search for persistent TeV emission used a maximum- likelihood analysis assuming intrinsic power-law spectra attenuated by pair production of gamma-ray photons with the extragalactic background light. HAWC clearly detec…
TANAMI II. Additional sources
2018
TANAMI is a multiwavelength program monitoring active galactic nuclei (AGN) south of -30{deg} declination including high-resolution Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) imaging, radio, optical/UV, X-ray and {gamma}-ray studies. We have previously published first-epoch 8.4GHz VLBI images of the parsec-scale structure of the initial sample. In this paper, we present images of 39 additional sources. The full sample comprises most of the radio- and {gamma}-ray brightest AGN in the southern quarter of the sky, overlapping with the region from which high-energy (>100TeV) neutrino events have been found. We characterize the parsec-scale radio properties of the jets and compare with the quasi-s…
Gaia-ESO Survey: H{alpha} emission stars catalogue
2015
We discuss the properties of H{alpha} emission stars across the sample of 22035 spectra from the Gaia-ESO Survey internal data release, observed with the GIRAFFE instrument and largely belonging to stars in young open clusters. Automated fits using two independent Gaussian profiles and a third component accounting for the nebular emission allow us to discern distinct morphological types of H{alpha} line profiles with the introduction of a simplified classification scheme. Altogether we find 3765 stars with intrinsic emission and sort their spectra into eight distinct morphological categories: single component emission, emission blend, sharp emission peaks, double emission, P-Cygni, inverted…
Gaia-ESO Survey: Cha I members
2017
Investigating the physical mechanisms driving the dynamical evolution of young star clusters is fundamental to our understanding of the star formation process and the properties of the Galactic field stars. The young (~2Myr) and partially embedded cluster Chamaeleon I is one of the closest laboratories to study the early stages of star cluster dynamics in a low-density environment. The aim of this work is to study the structural and kinematical properties of this cluster combining parameters from the high-resolution spectroscopic observations of the Gaia-ESO Survey with data from the literature. Our main result is the evidence of a large discrepancy between the velocity dispersion ({sigma}_…
VRIJHK observations of PKS 2155-304
2008
Spectral variability is the main tool for constraining emission models of BL Lac objects. By means of systematic observations of the BL Lac prototype PKS 2155-304 in the infrared-optical band, we explore variability on the scales of months, days and hours. We made our observations with the robotic 60cm telescope REM located at La Silla, Chile. VRIJHK filters were used. PKS 2155-304 was observed from May to December 2005. The wavelength interval explored, the total number of photometric points and the short integration time render our photometry substantially superior to previous ones for this source. On the basis of the intensity and colour we distinguish three different states of the sourc…
Rich clusters from SDSS DR8
2012
The study of the properties of galaxy clusters and their environment gives us information about the formation and evolution of galaxies, groups and clusters, and larger structures - superclusters of galaxies and the whole cosmic web. We study the relations between the multimodality of galaxy clusters drawn from the SDSS DR8 and the environment where they reside. As cluster environment we consider the global luminosity density field, supercluster membership, and supercluster morphology.
TANAMI monitoring of Centaurus A.
2015
Centaurus A (Cen A) is the closest radio-loud active galactic nucleus. Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) enables us to study the spectral and kinematic behavior of the radio jet-counterjet system on milliarcsecond scales, providing essential information for jet emission and propagation models. In the framework of the TANAMI monitoring, we investigate the kinematics and complex structure of Cen A on subparsec scales. We have been studying the evolution of the central parsec jet structure of Cen A for over 3.5-years. The proper motion analysis of individual jet components allows us to constrain jet formation and propagation and to test the proposed correlation of increased high-energy …
