Non-Thermal Ultrasonic Extraction of Polyphenolic Compounds from Red Wine Lees

This study presents the results of conventional aqueous (CE) and non-conventional ultrasound-assisted (UAE) extractions of polyphenolic compounds from lees extracts of red wine varieties (Merlot and Vranac). The effect of ultrasound extraction time (t, s), and amplitude (A,%) from a 400 W ultrasound processor with different ultrasonic probes diameters (Ds, mm) on the amount and profile of polyphenolic compounds in the obtained extracts was investigated and compared to CE. The optimal conditions resulting in maximum extraction of phenolic compounds were: Probe diameter of 22 mm, amplitude 90% and extraction time for Vranac wine lees 1500 s and for Merlot wine lees extraction time of 1361 s. …

Little is known about host cell factors necessary for hepatitis B virus (HBV) assembly which involves envelopment of cytosolic nucleocapsids by the S, M and L transmembrane viral envelope proteins and subsequent budding into intraluminal cisternae. Central to virogenesis is the L protein that mediates hepatocyte receptor binding and envelopment of capsids. To serve these topologically conflicting roles, L protein exhibits an unusual dual membrane topology, disposing its N-terminal preS domain inside and outside of the virion lipid envelope. AbstractThe hepatitis B virus L protein forms a dual topology in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) via a process involving cotranslational membrane integration and subsequent posttranslational translocation of its preS subdomain. Here, we show that preS posttranslocation depends on the action of the ER chaperone BiP. To modulate the in vivo BiP activity, we designed an approach based on overexpressing its positive and negative regulators, ER-localized DnaJ-domain containing protein 4 (ERdj4) and BiP-associated protein (BAP), respectively. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań wpływu programu "Rodzina 500+" na poziom życia gospodarstw domowych w Polsce. W tym celu przeprowadzono analizę porównawczą relacji między samooceną poziomu zaspokajania podstawowych grup potrzeb a dochodami, wydatkami konsumpcyjnymi i wybranymi charakterystykami gospodarstw domowych klasyfikowanych według kryterium typu biologicznego. Porównywano sytuację gospodarstw domowych w roku 2015 i 2017, czyli w roku bezpośrednio poprzedzającym wprowadzenie programu świadczeń wychowawczych i roku, w którym świadczenie to wypłacane było już przez pełne 12 miesięcy.
