Działalność duszpasterska ks. Rocha Nieszporskiego w Rząśni w dokumentacji archiwum parafialnego

2022

Archiwum Parafii w Rząśni zawiera interesujące dokumenty ukazujące działalność ks. Rocha Nieszporskiego w tej parafii w okresie 44 lat. Powierzono mu stanowisko proboszcza, ponieważ posiadał odpowiednie walory moralne i doświadczenie w pracy duszpasterskiej. Początki jego pracy były trudne ze względu na mały i znajdujący się w złym stanie technicznym kościół oraz niski poziom religijności mieszkańców. Udało mu się pozyskać odpowiednie środki na budowę nowej murowanej świątyni. Głównymi jej fundatorami byli Franciszka i Maciej Płaczkowscy. Poświęcenie kościoła rozpoczęło nowy etap w dziejach parafii, który odznaczał się pogłębieniem religijności wiernych i zwiększeniem ich udziału w formach …

Drought-related cholera outbreaks in Africa and the implications for climate change: a narrative review.

2021

ABSTRACT Africa has historically seen several periods of prolonged and extreme droughts across the continent, causing food insecurity, exacerbating social inequity and frequent mortality. A known consequence of droughts and their associated risk factors are infectious disease outbreaks, which are worsened by malnutrition, poor access to water, sanitation and hygiene and population displacement. Cholera is a potential causative agent of such outbreaks. Africa has the highest global cholera burden, several drought-prone regions and high levels of inequity. Despite this, research on cholera and drought in Africa is lacking. Here, we review available research on drought-related cholera outbreak…

MALNUTRITION IS ASSOCIATED WITH DEPRESSION IN LONG-TERM CARE POPULATION

2018

Rationale: Frailty in elderly is a multifactorial syndrome and is associatet with an increased risk of poor health outcomes (falls, disability, hospital- ization and mortality), malnutrition and depression are the must impor- tant factors contributing to frailty. This study describes the application of multidimensional evaluation for the early identification of frailty in long- term care population. Methods: Clinical data from 100 long-term care inpatients (53 female and 47 male, mean age 69.6 years) were collected at the ARNAS Civico- DiCristina-Benfratelli, Palermo, Italy. Each inpatient had undergone a multidimensional assessment through a multiprofessional team. Nutri- tional state was a…

Inactivity-induced oxidative stress: A central role in age-related sarcopenia?

2012

Ageing causes a progressive decline in skeletal muscle mass that may lead to decreased strength and functionality. The term sarcopenia is especially used to characterise this geriatric syndrome. Numerous conditions and behaviours are considered to accelerate the progression of sarcopenia such as chronic diseases, malnutrition and physical inactivity. As people in modern countries are more and more sedentary, the impact of physical inactivity on the prevalence of sarcopenia might be more and more important in the future. In this review, we discuss how reactive oxygen species (ROS) could mediate the effects of lifelong inactivity in the onset and progression of age-related sarcopenia. Althoug…

Repozytorium instytucjonalne wobec Zintegrowanego Systemu Informacji o Nauce i Szkolnictwie Wyższym

2017

W tekście omówiono również problemy związane z gromadzeniem i przekazywaniem danych o publikacjach do Modułu Sprawozdawczego Polskiej Bibliografii Naukowej, jednego z modułów Zintegrowanego Systemu Informacji o Nauce i Szkolnictwie Wyższym.

Detection and identification of Xanthomonas arboricola pv. pruni from symptomless plant material: results of an Italian test performance study

2015

Xanthomonas arboricola pv. pruni, the causal agent of bacterial spot disease of stone fruits, is a regulated quarantine pathogen in the European Union, listed as an A2 pest by the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO). Because detection and identification of this pathogen is key for its management and to ensure the production of pest free propagation material, it should be based on reliable tests, in particular when dealing with symptomless material. The current EPPO diagnostic Standard (PM 7/64) does not provide specific molecular methods for detection of this pest. The present paper summarizes the results of a test-performance study (TPS) to validate, at a nation…

First assessment of natural regeneration and seed dispersal of Persian walnut (Juglans regia L.) in Mediterranean agroecosystems

2020

Persian walnut (Juglans regia L.), which is native to Central Asia, has been widely cultivated throughout Europe over millennia as a multipurpose tree. However, only recently the naturalization process outside cultivation has been studied, mostly in temperate Europe, with no information regarding the Mediterranean region. Here we provide the first field investigations about the natural regeneration of walnut in two traditional Mediterranean agroecosystems: an irrigated mixed orchard in suburban areas and a non-irrigated prickly pear (Opuntia ficusindica [L.] Mill.) orchard. The natural regeneration densities were statistically different in the two agroecosystems, ranging from 75 individuals…
