Malnutrition is highly prevalent in geriatric populations, particularly in persons living in Nursing Homes (NH). Inadequate nutrition is one of the main risk factors for the onset of frailty and may contribute to the subsequent development of disability and mortality among NH residents. La malnutrizione è un problema di rilevante importanza nell’anziano. Numerosi studi hanno dimostrato che la prevalenza della malnutrizione è compresa tra il 20 e il 60% nei pazienti anziani al momento dell’ammissione in un reparto ospedaliero e tra il 30 e il 50% nei pazienti che accedono alle nursing-home; alcuni studi hanno stimato un dato di prevalenza di malnutrizione pari all’85% nei pazienti anziani confinati in casa, ospedalizzati o istituzionalizzati. This article offers a critical perspective on one of the central concepts of IR and the English School of IR in particular, namely the concept of international society. It argues that the moral agency of international society and its ‘naturalness’ were affirmed simultaneously with the marginalization of the concept of societas designating contractual political relations. The article traces the concept of contracted societas back to the work of Hugo Grotius, an acclaimed founder of the ‘international society’ tradition.
