Argumentoinnin keinot S2-oppijoiden teksteissä

Tässä tutkielmassa tarkastellaan yläkoulua käyvien suomi toisena kielenä -oppijoiden argumentoinnin taitoja suhteessa Eurooppalaiseen viitekehykseen (EVK). Tutkielmassa selvitetään, miten eri kielitaitotasoille sijoittuvat S2-oppijat argumentoivat ja vastaavatko heidän argumentointitaitonsa Viitekehyksessä kullekin taitotasolle määriteltyjä kuvauksia. Teoriataustana toimivat Perelmanin ja Olbrechts-Tytecan (1969) sekä Bayerin (2007) argumentointiteoriat. Aineisto koostuu 72:sta vuosina 2010–2011 Jyväskylän yliopiston soveltavan kielentutkimuksen laitoksen DIALUKI-tutkimushankkeessa kerätystä ja taitotasoitetusta mielipidekirjoituksesta. Tämä pro gradu -tutkimus tarkastelee viittomantunnistuksen automaattisuutta suomalaisessa viit- tomakielessä. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää, miten varhainen viittomakielen omaksu- minen ja kuulostatus vaikuttavat viittomantunnistuksen automaattisuuteen. Tutkimuksessa verra- taan kolmea ryhmää, jotka eroavat toisistaan sekä kuulostatuksiltaan että viittomakielen omaksu- misen ajankohdiltaan. Tutkimusmenetelmänä käytetään Stroopin testiä, joka on laajalti käytössä oleva toiminnanohjauksen testi. Tutkimusta varten testistä laadittiin versio suomalaiselle viitto- makielelle. "Not So Ridiculous" : Avicenna on the Existence of Nature (tabi'a) contra Aristotle and the Ash'arites

In this paper, I set out to explicate what I take to be a distinctive argument that Avicenna offers for the existence of nature (ṭabī ͑a) as a causal power (quwwa) in bodies (ajsām). In doing this, I first clarify the philosophical and historical context of the argument, showing that its two main targets were the Aristotelian tradition on the hand and the Ash ͑arite theological (kalām) tradition on the other. With regards to the Aristotelian tradition, which took the existence of nature as a given, I show that the shaykh departs from it in this regard for at least two reasons.
