The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between physical parameters and the spatial distribution of buried archaeological structures, using data acquired by the airborne hyperspectral sensor MIVIS in the visible, near infrared and thermal infrared wavelengths. The study areas are the territories of Halaesa, an important city in the Hellenistic-Roman period, and the Punic city of Mozia in Sicily. The influence of buried structures on thermal-radiative behaviour has been investigated using three parameters: Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), thermal inertia, and Thermal Balanced Gradient. Este trabajo pretende, en primer lugar, cuestionar extendidas concepciones de la tecnología que la presentan como mera aplicación de los conocimientos científicos y que están contribuyendo a una imagen distorsionada y empobrecida de la naturaleza de la ciencia y la tecnología y, consecuentemente, al desinterés e incluso rechazo hacia su estudio. En segundo lugar se presentan los resultados de una investigación cuyo objetivo es analizar en qué medida dichas concepciones afectan incluso al profesorado encargado de la alfabetización tecnológica. Finalmente se aborda la transformación de dichas concepciones.

Our aim is to compare three different perceptions of the agricultural landscape of Hellenistic-Roman Sicily: the "cadrastal" landscape as shown in the Tables of Halaisa, the literary landscape, as evidenced by sources as the poetry of Theocritus, and the landscape reconstructed through archaeological surveys (landscape archaeology). These perceptions are mediated by the elements considered: in the Tables the detection of the boundaries of public-ownwd lots, in the poetry of Theocritus the creation of an ideal landscape, while the archaeology of landscape allows us to reconstruct a system of population, result of complex interactions.
