A lo largo de la historia han existido fenómenos aparentemente inexplicables cuyos resultados han originado muertes, milagros, juicios por brujería e incluso ganancias y pérdidas de batallas militares. En este artículo se realiza una inspección microbiológica-histórica en donde algunos microorganismos (Claviceps purpurea, Fusarium sporotrichioides, Serratia marcescens y Stachybotrys chartarum), pueden ser los hipotéticos causantes de algunos de estos fenómenos.

Memory plays a fundamental role in the acquisition of food likes and dislikes. As a consequence, a better understanding food memory will contribute to a better understanding food choice and behavior. This work sets out several experiments based on a common recognition paradigm: during a first session, participants are exposed to the food to be remembered (target) under conditions ensuring incidental learning. After a certain retention interval, participants are asked to recognize the target among a set of distractors with a flavor and/or a texture slightly different from the target. [EN] Background Summer squash (Cucurbita pepo: Cucurbitaceae) are a popular horticultural crop for which there is insufficient genomic and transcriptomic information. Gene expression atlases are crucial for the identification of genes expressed in different tissues at various plant developmental stages. Here, we present the first comprehensive gene expression atlas for a summer squash cultivar, including transcripts obtained from seeds, shoots, leaf stem, young and developed leaves, male and female flowers, fruits of seven developmental stages, as well as primary and lateral roots. Abstract Meat is an important part of the human diet since it provides several nutrients. However, the amount of these nutrients can differ according to several factors. With this in mind, the present research was designed with the main objective of evaluating the effect of production system of broiler chickens (industrial, range and organic) on meat quality. The physicochemical, chemical and nutritional characteristics were determined in breast and drumstick meat. Dynamics of pistachio oils by proton nuclear magnetic resonance relaxtion dispersion

A number of pistachio oils were selected in order to test the efficacy of nuclear magnetic resonance relaxation dispersion (NMRD) technique in the evaluation of differences among oils (1) obtained from seeds subjected to different thermal desiccation processes, (2) retrieved from seeds belonging to the same cultivar grown in different geographical areas and (3) produced by using seed cultivars sampled in the same geographical region.
