Nell’ambito del censimento sulla signoria rurale nell’Italia del tardo Medioevo, viene ricostruisce la storia della signoria dei Peralta dalla formazione, all’apogeo, alla crisi con particolare riferimento all’amministrazione operata dai conti di Caltabellotta. As part of the census on rural lordship in late Middle Ages Italy, the history of the Peralta lordship is reconstructed from its formation, to its heyday, to the crisis with particular reference to the administration operated by the Counts of Caltabellotta.
Sulle origini del priorato cluniacense di Santa Maria delle Giummare di Sciacca (XII secolo)

Il priorato di Santa Maria delle Giummare di Sciacca fu fondato, secondo la tradizione, da Giuditta, figlia di Ruggero I e si attestò come unico esemplare cluniacense in Sicilia tra i numerosi priorati creati tra la seconda metà dell’XI secolo e gli inizi del XII in Italia. Nonostante la particolarità, il monastero è stato poco studiato e diversi interrogativi attendono ancora una soluzione. Tourism Destination Image, Tourism Discourse and UNESCO sites: a contrastive analysis

The purpose of this paper is to analyse tourism discourse - i.e. English as specialised and promotional discourse in the tourism field (Dann 1996, Gotti 2006, Maci, 2013) – as it is applied on websites promoting UNESCO sites in Sicily and in Malta. The consequent Tourism Destination Image (Crompton 1979; Echtner & Ritchie 1991) conveyed by the websites will also be investigated. A mixed methodological approach, both qualitative and quantitative, has been adopted. More specifically, the Corpus Linguistics approach has been privileged (Teubert 2005; Nigro 2006). A crustal seismic profile across Sicily

Abstract A crustal reflection seismic profile, more than 100 km long, was recorded across central Sicily, from the Tyrrhenian shore to the Sicily Channel, to understand the deep structures and the collision mechanisms between Europe and Africa and the subsequent geodynamic evolution. The profile was acquired using explosive sources and 240 active channels recorded by a Sercel 408-XL, 24 bits A/D converter, with a 12 km spread and a 24-fold coverage. The Sicilian hinterland and, in particular, the territory of the current province of Caltanissetta, during the archaeological investigations of the last sixty years, has returned a substantial monetary documentation. The analysis of these coins, conducted in parallel with that of the materials found in the relative archaeological contexts, has allowed us to draw significant considerations on the "monetary uses" of the anellenic populations of this part of Sicily.
