This two-part article reviews how the UK authorities have fared in the practical application of Directive 2004/38/EC in the five years since it entered into force. It identifies and examines the most common problems faced by EU citizens when seeking to have their rights recognised by the UK authorities applying the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006 by reference to questions and complaints received by Your Europe Advice. The contribution presents a new acquisition for the catalog of Fernando Yáñez, a Holy Family dating back to 1523, shedding new light on the artist?s production in the third decade of the sixteenth century during his return to Almedina, his birthplace, in a time frame that divides the works for Valencia, like the retablo mayor for the city?s cathedral, from his altarpieces for Cuenca.

The article intends to make a contribution of new documentary references, from the notarial funds of the Valencian archives, in which news about parish crosses and Lignum Crucis from the silversmith center of Valencia during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries are collected. ABSTRACTIn this work, the decision-making process involved in the restoration of the eighteenth century paliotto ligneo (wooden altar frontal) della chiesa del Santissimo Crocifisso all’Albergheria of Palermo is presented. Earlier research concerning mirror restoration was based on only a few case studies and the proposed techniques were not suitable for the artwork here. As a consequence, it was necessary to re-examine theories and protocols of modern restoration to plan an appropriate intervention of the altar frontal. Imperial straightening devices in disciplinary choices of academic knowledge production

Abstract In this piece, the authors question whether critical language research, in its complex collection of researcher choices, is possible beyond the discursive imaginary of critical academic scholarship. In other words, how do (allegedly) anticolonial efforts re-orient towards contribution to the imperial record? We present three vignettes, through which we grapple with the notion that researcher choice exists within the solipsism of academia. In doing so, we frame research and scholarship as a collection of choices, which we believe are better understood as a collection of fraught dilemmas.
