2016
Maģistra darba mērķis ir izpētīt, kādus alternatīvus atbalsta pakalpojumus deinstitucionalizācijas procesa rezultātā nepieciešams attīstīt pašvaldībās, lai personas ar garīga rakstura traucējumiem varētu atgriezties dzīvot sabiedrībā pilnvērtīgu dzīvi. Darbs sastāv no ievada, teorētiskās daļas ar apakšnodaļām, empīriskās analīzes daļas, secinājumiem. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek aplūkoti: deinstitucionalizācijas process Eiropā, sociālā atbalsta sistēma Zviedrijā, sociālo pakalpojumu pieejamība cilvēkiem ar GRT valstī. Pētījuma teorētiskais ietvars tiek balstīts uz stigmatizācijas, totālās institūcijas teorijām, normalizācijas principu. Darbs īstenots, izmantojot jaukto metožu pētījuma dizainu, ve…
Structural Manipulations of Marine Natural Products Inspire a New Library of 3-Amino-1,2,4-Triazine PDK Inhibitors Endowed with Antitumor Activity in…

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is one of the main aggressive types of cancer, characterized by late prognosis and drug resistance. Among the main factors sustaining PDAC progression, the alteration of cell metabolism has emerged to have a key role in PDAC cell proliferation, invasion, and resistance to standard chemotherapeutic agents. Taking into account all these factors and the urgency in evaluating novel options to treat PDAC, in the present work we reported the synthesis of a new series of indolyl-7-azaindolyl triazine compounds inspired by marine bis-indolyl alkaloids. We first assessed the ability of the new triazine compounds to inhibit the enzymatic activity of pyruvate de…
Drug Induced Liver Injury (DILI) due to variability in monacolin K content in Red Yeast Rice (RYR): An expert opinion
2020
Abstract Introduction Red yeast rice (RYR) is an effective cholesterol-lowering nutraceutical reversibly inhibiting 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl-CoA (HMG-CoA) reductase. As liver damage is a possible (albeit rare) side effect of HMG-CoA inhibitors, it make sense to focus on the tolerability of the liver to RYR extracts. The aim of this paper is to offer an expert opinion on the risk of liver damage by the use of RYR extract. Methods A review of the available literature has been carried out and critically reviewed by the authors. Results According to a large meta-analysis of 53 randomized clinical trials comprising 112 treatment arms, which included 8535 subjects with 4437 in the RYR arm and …
Impact of intermittent energy restriction on anthropometric outcomes and intermediate disease markers in patients with overweight and obesity: system…
2020
This systematic review aims to investigate the effects of intermittent energy restriction (IER) on anthropometric outcomes and intermediate disease markers. A systematic literature search was conducted in three electronic databases. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included if the intervention lasted ≥12 weeks and IER was compared with either continuous energy restriction (CER) or a usual diet. Random-effects meta-analysis was performed for eight outcomes. Certainty of evidence was assessed using GRADE. Seventeen RCTs with 1328 participants were included. IER in comparison to a usual diet may reduce body weight (mean difference [MD]: −4.83 kg, 95%-CI: −5.46, −4.21; n = 6 RCTs), wais…

Tämän lisäksi suurin osa vanhemmista kielenoppijoista on aloittanut kieliopintonsa kielioppi-käännös-menetelmän aikana, jolloin suulliseen kielitaitoon ei kiinnitetty juurikaan huomiota. Koska nykyään suullinen kielitaito on pääosassa koulujen kielenopetuksessa, halusin tutkimuksen avulla myös selvittää, mikä puhetaidon asema on kansalaisopistossa opiskelevien ikääntyvien kielenoppijoiden mielestä suhteessa kielitaidon muihin osa-al…
Effect of Germacrene-Rich Essential Oil of Parentucellia latifolia (L.) Caruel Collected in Central Sicily on the Growth of Microorganisms Inhabiting…
2022
In the present study, the chemical composition of the essential oil from aerial parts of Parentucellia latifolia (L.) Caruel collected in Central Sicily was analyzed by gas chromatography and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. The results showed the presence of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, with germacrene D and germacrene B accounting, respectively, for 59.2% and 24.3% of the total oil. Different colonies of bacteria and fungi frequently affect cellulosic objects such as books stored in libraries and museums. The antibacterial and antifungal activity against some microorganisms infesting historical-artistic craftsmanship was determined, demonstrating that the essential oil was particular…

A wide class of chain geometries is characterized by their automorphism group using properties of a distinguished involution.
