Novel cationic polyaspartamide with covalently linked carboxypropyl-trimethyl ammonium chloride as a candidate vector for gene delivery

2006

Abstract The non-viral gene vector properties of a protein-like polymer, the α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl)- d , l -aspartamide (PHEA) were investigated after its derivatization with 3-(carboxypropyl)trimethyl-ammonium chloride (CPTA) as molecule bearing cationic groups, in order to obtain stable polycations able to condense DNA. PHEA was firstly functionalized with hydrazide pendant groups by reaction with hydrazine monohydrate (HYD), obtaining the polyhydrazide α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl/carbazate)- d , l -aspartamide (PHEA–HYD). In this paper we reported that polymer functionalization degree can be easily modulated by varying reaction conditions, so allowing us to produce two PHEA derivatives…

A second monoclinic polymorph of 2-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-2-hy-droxy-imino-N'-[1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethyl-idene]acetohydrazide.

2013

The title compound, C14H16N6O2, is a second monoclinic polymorph of 2-[1-(3,5-dimethyl)pyrazolyl]-2-hydroxyimino-N′-[1-(2-pyridyl)ethylidene] acetohydrazide, with two crystallographically independent molecules per asymmetric unit. The non-planar molecules are chemically equal having similar geometric parameters. The previously reported polymorph [Plutenko et al. (2012 ▶). Acta Cryst. E68, o3281] was described in space group Cc (Z = 4). The oxime group and the O atom of the amide group are anti with respect to the C—C bond. In the crystal, molecules are connected by N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds into zigzag chains extending along the b axis.

Influence of Host-Guest and Host-Host Interactions on the Spin-Crossover 3D Hofmann-type Clathrates {FeII(pina)[MI(CN)2]2·xMeOH (MI = Ag, Au)

2019

[EN] The synthesis, structural characterization and magnetic properties of two new isostructural porous 3D compounds with the general formula {FeII(pina)[MI(CN)2]2}·xMeOH (x = 0¿5; pina = N-(pyridin-4-yl)isonicotinamide; MI = AgI and x ~ 5 (1·xMeOH); MI = AuI and x ~ 5 (2·xMeOH)) are presented. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses have revealed that the structure of 1·xMeOH (or 2·xMeOH) presents two equivalent doubly interpenetrated 3D frameworks stabilized by both argentophilic (or aurophilic) interactions and interligand C¿O···HC H-bonds. Despite the interpenetration of the networks, these compounds display accessible void volume capable of hosting up to five molecules of methano…

N-Benzyl-2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzamide

2010

In the title compound, C14H8F5NO, the dihedral angle between the planes of the pentafluorophenyl and phenyl rings is 18.34 (5)°. An intermolecular N—H...O hydrogen bond between the amide groups connects these molecules to form an infinite chain through the crystal structure. One weak intermolecular C—H...O contact and one π–π interaction [centroid–centroid distance = 3.772 (3) Å] are also involved in crystal structure stabilization between the phenyl rings.

The synthesis and X-ray study of (η6-benzamide)- and (η6-phenylacetamide)tricarbonyl chromium complexes. Structural effects of the substituent

1994

(η6-Benzamide)tricarbonylchromium and tricarbonyl(η6-phenylacetamide)chromium (1 and 2) have been synthesized from the corresponding amides and chromium hexacarbonyl. Decalin, a mixture of decalin and butyl acetate, and neat butyl acetate have been used as the reaction media. The first system gave best yields. Both amide complexes form adducts with non-complexed molecules of the type [(CO3)CrL] · L through hydrogen bonds, suggested on the basis of 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Similar associations by hydrogen bonds exist in the solid state structure of 3 and 4. The π-donor-acceptor abilities of the substituents on the rings are discussed on the basis of geometrical parameters and 13C NMR dat…

N-(4-Acetyl-3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)-N-methyl-2-(2-methyl-4-oxo-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-3-yl)benzamide

2013

In the title compound, C29H25N5O3, the dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the pendant quinazoline ring system (r.m.s. deviation = 0.036Å) is 87.60 (17)°. The equivalent angle between the pyrazole ring and the phenyl group is 70.0 (2)°. The dihedral angle between the benzene and pyrazole rings is 30.7 (2)° and overall, the molecular conformation approximates to a Z shape. A short intramolecular C—H...O contact occurs. In the crystal, the molecules are linked by Cπ—H...O-type hydrogen bonds and aromatic π–π stacking interactions [centroid–centroid distance = 3.860 (3) Å], generating a three-…

Molecular and crystal structure of Ac-(Z)-ΔAbu-NMe2 and Ac-DL-Abu-NMe2 as compared to those of related molecules

2004

Abstract The molecular and crystal structures of two homologous amino acid derivatives: N-acetyl-α,β-dehydro-butyrine N´,N´-dimethylamide (1) and N-acetyl-DL-butyrine N´,N´-dimethylamide (2), have been determined by X-ray crystallography. Similar solid-state association of both compounds is observed; despite different molecular conformation, they form centrosymmetric dimers linked by the intermolecular N–H…O hydrogen bonds. The conformation of two crystallographically independent molecules of 1 [with torsion angles ϕ, ψ, χ 1 ≈ (–47°, 130°, 3°), respectively] is also characteristic of other related diamides – ΔAla, ΔPhe and ΔLeu – previously studied in the solid state. To analyse whether thi…

Topological control in the hydrogen bond-directed self-assembly of ortho-, meta-, and para-phenylene-substituted dioxamic acid diethyl esters

2010

[EN] The structures of the series of N,N¿-1,n-phenylenebis(oxamic acid ethyl ester) molecules with n = 2 (H2Et2opba, 1), 3 (H2Et2mpba, 2), and 4 (H2Et2ppba, 3) have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) methods. Density functional (DF) calculations have been performed on the simplest model system N-phenyloxamic acid methyl ester (HMepma). Compounds 1¿3 have either folded (H2Et2opba), bent (H2Et2mpba), or linear (H2Et2ppba) almost planar (periplanar) molecular configurations with the two oxalamide moieties being slightly tilted up and down, respectively, with respect to the benzene ring. The energy calculations as a function of the torsion angle (¿) around the N(amide)¿C(…

2002

The crystal structure of the title copper(II) complex, [Cu(C(18)H(36)N(8)O(4))]SO(4).4.5H(2)O, formed with the tetraamide cyclam derivative 2-(4,8,11-triscarbamoylmethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradec-1-yl)acetamide (TETAM), is described. The macrocycle lies on an inversion centre occupied by the hexacoordinated Cu atom. The four macrocyclic tertiary amines form the equatorial plane of an axially Jahn-Teller elongated octahedron. Two O atoms belonging to two diagonally opposite amide groups occupy the apical positions, giving rise to a trans-III stereochemistry, while both the remaining pendant side arms extend outwards from the macrocyclic cavity and are engaged in hydrogen bonds with sulf…

Synthesis, structure and magnetic properties of Mn(II) and Cu(II) complexes with the dicyano-acetic acid methyl ester anion

2001

The preparation of the sodium salt of dicyano-acetic acid methyl ester (NaCH 3 OC(O)C(CN) 2 ) (NaL) is reported. The structure of this anion is related to the structure of the dicyanamide, whose chelating capability has been used to develop 2D networks. Two new complexes of formula [M(L) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ] (M=Mn 2+ ( 1 ) and Cu 2+ ( 2 )) have been synthesized and their crystal structures determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The coordination geometry of Mn atom in 1 is approximately octahedral, and the Mn atoms are μ 2 -bridged by two pairs of L − resulting in an infinite one-dimensional chain. Two types of hydrogen bonds link the chains within a 3-dimensional infinite lattice. The coo…
