The chapter traces Descola's interest in the collocation of the cosmology of the indigenous Wayùu people of the Guajira peninsula within his typology of ontologies and modes of identification. It also deals with the positions of those scholars who have proposed reinterpretations of Wayùu ethnography in the light of Descola's theory of the patterns of practice exposed in 'Beyond Nature et Culture'

Analogy is a mode of reasoning that is employed in problem solving, logic, science and art. The scheme of analogical reasoning is centred on the detection of similarity or common features across domains. Copi and Cohen (2005), Keynes (1921), Carnap (1980) suggested what analogical reasoning consists of. De Finetti (1938) proposed an alternative treatment of analogy as inference on what is invariant across statistical distributions of distinct event kinds. In problem solving theory, cognitive models of the content and the structural mapping of analogy has been built. Science and art has provided important test beds for models.

In clinical practice and research, Raven’s Coloured Progressive Matrices (RCPMs) continue to be used according to a single procedure that aims to evaluate a single overall score of the current general intelligence level. This study aimed to examine potential cognitive development in a sample of 450 typically developing children, aged from 6 to 10 years, by administering RCPMs according to the standard procedure followed immediately by a standardized interview on incorrect items. This article proposes a retrospective on experimental and numerical methods developed throughout the past century to solve the torsion problem in shafts, with particular emphasis on the determination of shear stress concentration factors in discontinuities of typical use in shaft design. This article, in particular, presents the theory and related solutions distinguishing between two classes of geometries: shafts with constant cross section and axisymmetric shafts with variable diameter. Se desarrollan dos estudios relacionados para analizar en qué características se basan los estudiantes para codificar problemas y detectar sus analogías, en tareas de categorización (sorting). Transkriptoma analīze akromegālijas pacientiem ar un bez medikamentozās terapijas

Darba mērķis bija veikt somatotrofas hipofīzes adenomas audu transkriptoma analīzi pacientiem, kuri ir vai nav lietojuši medikamentozo terapiju pirms operācijas, analizējot SST/DA analogu izraisītās izmaiņas transkriptomā. Lai to realizētu tika izdalīts totālais RNS no pacientu somatotrofās hipofīzes adenomas audiem un sagatavotas transkriptoma bibliotēkas. Pēc tam iegūtie dati tika analizēti, izmantojot Galaxy platformu un programmu R un R Studio. Pēc datu analīzes tika iegūti 22 statistiski būtiski DEGs un no tiem viens būtiski iesaistīts signālceļš, kā arī intensitātes grafikā tika novērotas divas izteiktas gēnu grupas, kas iedalijās starp pacientiem atkarībā no medikamentozās terapijas.
