Perceived usefulness of business intelligence system in decision making process

Liiketoimintatiedon järjestelmät ovat kasvattaneet suosiotaan. Tämän tutkielman tavoitteena on selvittää edesauttavatko nämä järjestelmät päätöksentekoprosessia. Tutkielmassa esitellään päätöksenteon tukijärjestelmien synty, historia ja tällaisten järjestelmien erilaiset tavoitteet. Järjestelmien teknologiset taustat ja päätöksentekoprosessi esitellään. Tutkielman aineisto on kerätty elektronisella kyselylomakkeella eri organisaatioiden työntekijöiltä. Unboxing co-creation of value: Users' hedonic and utilitarian drivers

Value co-creation through involving users in service processes via resource integration is a focal service research interest. However, studies often take a firm-centric or generic approach and overlook value co-creation from the point view of an individual user. We address this gap by adopting a qualitative research approach and laddering interviews (n = 113) to examine users’ hedonic and utilitarian drivers for value co-creation behavior in five service system contexts. In this paper we present most recent evolution of JACOB, a system we developed for image and video content-based storage and retrieval. The system is based on two separate archives: a 'features DB' and a 'raw-data DB'. When a user puts a query, a search is done in the 'features DB'; the selected items are taken form the 'raw-data DB' and shown to the user. Two kinds of sessions are allowed: 'database population' and 'database querying'. During a 'database population' session the user inserts new data into the archive. When we introduce icon-based language into the context of requirements engineering, we must take into account that what users perceive as recognizable and usable depends on their background. In this paper, we argue that it is not possible to provide a single set of visual notations that appeal to all of stakeholders. Instead, we suggest an adaptable preference framework, which generates personalized notations that correspond to personal background.
