Academic research on newly discovered ancient Buddhist manuscripts is largely based on objects that come from the antiquities market and to a much lesser degree on objects coming from documented and controlled archaeological excavations. Despite their being unprovenanced, collectors and scholars often present such objects with narratives mimicking provenance. In questo articolo, si cercherà di ricostruire l’attività di un’officina destinata principalmente alla produzione di laterizi con bollo ΟΝΑΣΟΥ, databile fra III e I secolo a.C. Ricerche precedenti hanno permesso di riconoscere nel produttore di questi laterizi lo stesso Onasus Segestanus citato nelle Verrine di Cicerone e di localizzarne una possibile officina presso la Baia di San Cataldo. Questo articolo riesamina il lavoro di M. Ponsich, pubblicato nel 1981, sul centro monumentale di Lixus (Morocco). Egli interpretava le strutture trovate negli scavi iniziati da Tarradell nel 1948 come un ínsieme di santuari tra loro legati e databili principalmente in epoca romana. Il nuovo esame dei resti conservati insieme con i più recenti scavi ci permettono di riesaminare questa parte del sito. Abstract Information from excavations in Conde de Trenor street (1997) and Cisneros square (1986 and 1998) has confirmed that this area situated in the north of Valencia was a river port district dedicated to commercial activities and storing goods during the Roman Imperial period and maybe also in the Republican period. At the end of the third century A.D. the function of these port buildings changed and the evidence suggests that they became industrial workshops. This study proposes to re-evaluate a marble statue from the old collections of the National Museum of Union Alba Iulia. It was discovered by A. Cserni during excavations carried out at the Palace of the Governors of Roman Dacia, in 1898. It has been repeatedly published by Á. Hekler and Al. Diaconescu. While the latter author established dating and iconographic prototype of the statue, we believe that further details as discovery place and context, depiction, iconographic attribution and role of this work of art can be offered. With this contribution we would like offer a first and brief approximation about the Hispanic Coin Hoards, roughly dated between the reigns of Augustus and the end of the Tetrarchy. We will focus solely on the imperial hoards found in the Iberian Peninsula. In a chained, diachronic and casuistic way, we offer an analysis according to a series of variables: historical events, archaeological context, pattern of hoarding and functionality.
