Light transmission and ultraviolet protection of contact lenses under artificial illumination

Purpose: To determine the spectral transmission of contact lenses (CLs), with and without an ultraviolet (UV) filter to evaluate their capacity for protection under UV radiation from artificial illumination (incandescent, fluorescent, xenon (Xe) lamps, or white LEDs (light-emitting diode)). Methods: The transmission curves of nine soft CLs were obtained by using a PerkinElmer Lambda 35 UV-vis spectrophotometer. RESUMEN La participación del aparato genitourinario en el contexto de la enfermedad hematológica maligna es bien conocida. No obstante, la afectación ovárica por linfomas es inusual, ya sea de novo o como manifestación tardía de linfoma diseminado. El objetivo de esta comunicación es exponer la aportación diagnóstica de la ecografía tridimensional (3D) en la detección de metástasis ováricas, cuando todavía algunas de las pruebas de imagen estándar como la tomografía computarizada (TAC) son normales. En este caso presentamos una paciente con linfoma B difuso de células grandes mediastínico de crecimiento rápido y diseminación precoz a aparato gastrointestinal y genitourinario.

Para demostrar la autoría de la Gramatica de la Lengua Vulgar de España nos basamos en los siguientes puntos: el uso en El Concejo i Consejeros del Príncipe (Amberes, 1559) de Furio Ceriol de las normas ortográficas propuestas en la Gramatica; la denominación de la lengua castellana o española como lengua ‘vulgar’ de España, en la misma obra de Ceriol; las ideas lingüísticas contenidas en la Gramatica y en Bononia de Ceriol; la organización retórica de la Gramatica; y, en último lugar, la comparación entre el poema dedicatorio en la Gramatica y los de las obras de Furio Ceriol.

A series of 3-D asthenospheric-scale analogue models have been conducted in the laboratory in order to simulate the arrival of a spreading ridge at the trench and understand its effect on plate kinematics, slab geometry, and on the deformation of the overriding plate. These models are made of a two-layered linearly viscous system simulating the lithosphere and asthenosphere. We reproduce the progressive decrease in thickness of the oceanic lithosphere at the trench. We measure plate kinematics, slab geometry and upper plate deformation. Abstract Tisagenlecleucel (tisa‐cel) is a second‐generation autologous CD19‐targeted chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‐cell therapy approved for relapsed/refractory (R/R) large B‐cell lymphoma (LBCL). The approval was based on the results of phase II JULIET trial, with a best overall response rate (ORR) and complete response (CR) rate in infused patients of 52% and 40%, respectively. DESIGN:: The expression of renin-angiotensin system components was determined at 15 mins, 3 hrs, 6 hrs, 12 hrs, and 24 hrs after controlled cortical impact in mice.
