Diaspora Start-Up Programs and Creative Industries: Evidence from Romania

Romania is one of the main countries of origin for intra-European migration. The national authorities recently implemented the first major program —Diaspora Start-up—to support the business initiatives of Romanian citizens who live abroad and who are interested in opening a business in their home country. This scheme was developed in parallel with a broader program—Romania Start-up Plus—which was designed to support the entrepreneurial initiatives of individuals residing inside the country. STATE AID POLICY BETWEEN COMPETITION AND ECONOMIC GROWTH: THE IMPACT OF STATE AID TO R&D ON GDP IN THE EU MEMBER STATES

The paper focuses on the analysis of the relationship between state aid to R&D and economic growth, measured by GDP level, providing empirical evidence of a correlation between these variables. Using a methodology which combines the regression technique and Granger causality, we found that GDP represents a significant causal determinant of state aid, while the correlation the variables considered is positive and statistically significant, suggesting that, in spite of disparities between Member States, government support through state aid to R&D has evolved from maintaining undistorted competition to the possibility to act as an incentive for the economic growth in the EU.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki aproksymacji przykładowych danych pomiaru prawdopodobieństwa odbioru sygnału NIEBEZPIECZEŃSTWO. Prawdopodobieństwo to rozpatruje się jako funkcję odległości pomiędzy statkiem powietrznym a systemem naziemnym w ustalonych warunkach pomiaru. Aproksymację danych pomiarowych zrealizowano korzystając z własności funkcji logistycznej. Prawdopodobieństwo jako funkcja odległości pozwala na określenie zasięgu sygnału NIEBEZPIECZEŃSTWO dla zadanego poziomu ufności.
The ALHAMBRA survey: evolution of galaxy clustering since z∼1

We study the clustering of galaxies as function of luminosity and redshift in the range $0.35 < z < 1.25$ using data from the Advanced Large Homogeneous Area Medium Band Redshift Astronomical (ALHAMBRA) survey. The ALHAMBRA data used in this work cover $2.38 \mathrm{deg}^2$ in 7 independent fields, after applying a detailed angular selection mask, with accurate photometric redshifts, $��_z \lesssim 0.014 (1+z)$, down to $I_{\rm AB} < 24$. Given the depth of the survey, we select samples in $B$-band luminosity down to $L^{\rm th} \simeq 0.16 L^{*}$ at $z = 0.9$. These characteristics or `marks' permit to understand the galaxy catalogs that carry all this information as realizations of marked point processes. Endovascular Rescue Treatment for Occlusion of Renal Arteries Resulting in Acute Renal Failure

Urgent revascularization of renal arteries for their occlusions resulting in acute renal failure still remains a therapeutic challenge. In this paper we describe 3 cases of successful endovascular interventions for acute non-iatrogenic occlusions of renal arteries. In the first patient we managed thrombotic occlusion of the renal artery that coexisted with gastrointestinal bleeding. We recanalized occluded renal artery using an extraction catheter and stenting, and managed the bleeding with the use of embolization coils.
