Työttömyyden ja yrittäjyyden välinen riippuvuus Suomessa

Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin työttömien ja yritysten määrien muutosten välistä riippuvuutta Suomen osalta. Työttömyyden muutoksia tarkasteltiin erikseen yritysten määrän, aloittaneiden yritysten ja yritysten toimipaikkojen muutosten suhteen aikasarja- ja paneeliaineistojen avulla. Tutkimusmenetelmänä hyödynnettiin muun muassa paneeliaineistoille soveltuvaa VAR-mallia sekä Granger-kausaalisuustestiä. Sekä Suomessa että kansainvälisesti on käynnissä jatkuva muutos työmarkkinoilla. Irtisanomiset ovat pakottaneet etsimään erilaisia taloudellisen toimeentulon keinoja. Pulsed flow-through cultivation of Margaritifera margaritifera : effects of water source and food quantity on the survival and growth of juveniles

AbstractConservation of the endangered freshwater pearl mussel (FPM) includes artificially rearing juveniles, but the pulsed flow-through (PFT) method, enabling the continuous renewal of water and food in culture containers, has not been applied to FPM. This study tested the PFT method in culture of FPM juveniles, and the effect of water source (tap vs well water) and food concentration (mixture of commercial phytoplankton products) on the survival and growth of juveniles. Beaker-specific survival rates varied from 0 to 100% (mean: 34%) and from 0 to 58% (mean: 16%) in the 1st (2-week) and 2nd (10-week) experiment, respectively. Traces of the past: an interview study with Finnish war children who did not return to Finland after the Second World War

ABSTRACTThis paper is an in-depth qualitative study based on interviews with 10 Finnish children who were evacuated to Sweden during Second World War and who did not return to Finland after the war. The interviewees were asked to tell about their lives. Nine of them were between 2 and 5 years and one was 7 years old at the time of evacuation. The aim was to study how their childhood experiences were reflected in adult memories, how they remembered or did not remember. Waste heat recovery from a marine waste incinerator using a thermoelectric generator

The application has been evaluated using mathematical modeling to optimize the heat exchanger and some vital design parameters of the TEG. The calculation shows that it is possible to extract 58 kW el at a price of 6.6 US$/W from an 850-kW th incinerator when optimizing for maximum power.
