BACKGROUND Compliance and persistence are often overlooked in adjuvant breast cancer treatment. PATIENTS AND METHODS PACT was a prospective, multicenter, randomized, open, parallel-group study assessing whether educational materials (EMs) enhanced compliance with aromatase inhibitor (AI) therapy in postmenopausal women with early, hormone-receptor-positive (HR+) breast cancer. Steroid activities comparison of natural and food wrap compounds in human breast cancer cell lines

Abstract In this study, we tested and compared the endocrine disruption activities of compounds in materials used to package foods (bisphenol A, bisphenol F, and bisphenol A diglycidylether BADGE) with natural molecules (genistein, apigenin, kaempferol, and tangeretin) in the human breast cancer cell lines MCF-7 (ER + ) and MDA-MB453 (AR + ; GR + ). Octylphenol was also chosen as a xenoestrogen reference. Two compounds had no estrogenic activity: BADGE and tangeretin. Cisplatin-induced peripheral neuropathy: neuroprotection by erythropoietin without affecting tumour growth

This study examined the dose-dependent efficacy of erythropoietin (EPO) for preventing and/or treating cisplatin (CDDP) induced peripheral neurotoxicity (CINP), and its influence on tumour treatment and growth. Rats received eight intraperitoneal (ip) injections of 2 mg/kg CDDP twice weekly. EPO co-administered (50 or 10 microg/kg ip, three times/week) had a dose-dependent effect, partially preventing CINP, but 0.5 microg/kg ip was not effective. The neuroprotective effect lasted at least 5 weeks after the last dose of EPO and CDDP. Aim There is a paucity of data on the clinical presentation and management of cancer patients with acquired haemophilia (AH), we here report a systematic literature review on acquired haemophilia in the context of cancer. Methods Treatment outcomes of AH were defined as complete response (CR), partial response (PR) or no response (NR), based on inhibitor eradication, coagulation factor VIII levels and bleeding control. PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors are associated with a specific spectrum of immune-related adverse events. This spectrum is different from toxicities known for kinase inhibitors or cytotoxic drugs. In recent years, the cancer survival of patients has improved thanks to advances in the pharmacological field. In many guidelines, cardiotoxicity induced by anticancer drugs was defined as a reduction from baseline in the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) assessed by echocardiography. It is known that LVEF is not a sensible parameter in the detection of cardiotoxicity.
