The deep-sea holasteroid Calymne relicta was first described from a few fragments discovered by the HMS ‘Challenger’ in the Bermuda abyssal plain more than a century ago. In addition to re-examining the type material, we describe herein new specimens from unpublished material collected between 3720 and 4860 m during three scientific expeditions that took place on both sides of the North Atlantic between 1966 and 1991. The new material includes juvenile and adult specimens in sufficiently good preservational state to allow a full redescription, including all types of appendages, some of which have never been described. Introduction: Primary peritonitis (PP) and Ménétrier's Disease (MD) are both rare conditions among pediatric population. Although about 150 MD cases have been described in the scientific literature to date, its onset with a PP is an unusual condition.Case Presentation: We present a case of an 11-year-old boy who was admitted to our unit because of abdominal pain and distension. Complementary tests showed ascites, bilateral pleural effusion, leukocytosis, increased acute phase reactants and hypoproteinemia with hypoalbuminemia. However, ingested foreign bodies may sometimes remain silent within the appendix for many years without an inflammatory response. Background and Objectives: The aim of the study was to investigate a potential association between previous childhood appendectomy, tube pathology, and female infertility. Methods: We reviewed patients seeking care at the fertility clinic of our university medical center between 2006 and 2016. The history of previous appendectomy was extracted from hospital documentation and by telephone follow-up. Tubal patency was assessed by diagnostic laparoscopy and chromopertubation. Results: In our study cohort (N = 237), 24.9% (n = 59) had a history of previous appendectomy. We analyse the results in a series of patients treated in our centre. Material and methods Retrospective study of patients operated on for appendiceal peritoneal carcinomatosis from January 2012 to May 2015. Results Twenty-seven consecutive patients were included.
