Nel 1933 i Professori della Scuola Medica genovese V. Maragliano, GB. Cardinale e A. Vallebona decisero di proporre come Santo Patrono e Protettore dei Radiologi, San Michele Arcangelo. L’iniziativa dei Grandi Maestri genovesi della Radiologia fu accolta subito dai colleghi con grande entusiasmo. Venne quindi inoltrata richiesta scritta di “supplica” a Papa Pio XII per ottenere il riconoscimento ufficiale da parte della Chiesa cattolica. Posługa duszpasterska pierwszego proboszcza parafii św. Michała w Opolu-Półwsi, ks. Wilhelma Görlicha, przypadła na lata 1937–1958. Jeszcze w czasach hitlerowskich świątynię budowano jako kościół parafialny i garnizonowy. Podczas II wojny światowej największym wyzwaniem była ochrona parafian przed ideologią nazistowską. Od zimy 1944 r. znakami czasu stały się ewakuacja, śmierć i zniszczenia. Uszkodzeniom uległ i kościół. Wiosną 1945 r. parafianie znaleźli się już w innym kontekście: Opolszczyzna stała się częścią Polski. El presente articulo intenta determinar las razones por las que el santuario de Sant Miquel de Llíria, uno de los más importantes de la actual provincia de Valencia, se consagró al arcàngel guerrero. Se estudia para ello la historia de su culto en Occidente, haciendo hincapié en aspectos como su relación con los lugares elevados y la frecuente proximidad de sus santuarios con aquellos dedicados a la Virgen. Friar-architects carried out important projects in the Valencia area. These monks, who combined architectural with spiritual labors, accomplished works in which they knew how to combine tradition with new architectural tendencies. The church of St. Michael Archangel of Burjassot by Friar Francisco de Santa Bárbara, provides the chance to study this constructive phenomenon in relation to its doorway and twin altarpieces at the crossing. El presente trabajo aborda el estudio de las imágenes de los ángeles militares en los virreinatos americanos y su interpretación a partir de la función cultural de las imágenes. Para ello se analizan las distintas tipologías visuales del arcángel san Miguel en el virreinato de Nueva España y su uso regiopolítico, la definición beligerante del resto de ángeles en la tradición teológica y la imagen de los conocidos como arcángeles arcabuceros.
