This article explores the development of the theme of the Life-giving Spring in Byzantine iconography. The path towards its establishment was initiated at the moment when a representation rule, an original convention was set. Thereafter, because of its diffusion in time and space, the theme became enriched by particular mentalities and sensibilities of the epochs and the communities that adopted it as a form of devotion for the Virgin Theotokos. The current premise in the enterprise architecture (EA) literature is that business architecture defines all other EA architecture layers; information architecture, information systems architecture, and technology architecture. In this paper, we will study the ICT-cooperation between eight small and mid-sized municipalities and cities in Southern Finland. Our case demonstrates that the ICT-cooperation is possible without business cooperation and that ICT-cooperation can be a driver for future business cooperation. La presente ricerca si è svolta in tre fasi distinte. Un primo biennio tra Milano, l’Università degli Studi di Palermo e sopralluoghi presso l’ex campo di concentramento di Auschwitz, centrando le attenzioni sul tema del Memoriale italiano. A questa prima fase è seguito un semestre di ricerche presso l’Universidad Politecnica de Madrid in cui sono state svolte le prime ricerche sull’IAUs (Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies, 1968-1985) e «Oppositions» (1973-1985), sopratutto per quanto concerne le relazioni fra Spagna, Tendenza italiana e Stati Uniti.
