L'articolo racconta l'esperienza della CoPED Summer School (Community Planning and Ecological Design) svolta in Sicilia, nella Valle del Simeto, a Giugno 2015. La Scuola è una delle tappe del processo di costruzione del Patto per il fiume Simeto, che è cominciato nel 2002 ed è stato condotto in una cornice di community-university partnership da alcuni action-researchers in collaborazione con la comunità locale. Expatriation of higher-education graduates raises much concern in many countries often in conjunction with talk about the brain drain. It supposedly entails a risk of losing the skills required for a competitive economy. The issue is all the more acute for PhD graduates, who are expected to play a major part in the knowledge economy (Dasgupta and David, 1994). Changing Academic Mobility Patterns and International Migration

Several scholars have underlined connections between academic mobility and international migration. This qualitative study explores a spectrum of academic mobility articulated by Teichler that empirically contributes to consideration of these connections. This analysis of e-mail excerpts from 20 migrant academics, living in seven countries, illuminates six distinct patterns of academic mobility and highlights key differences between regions of the world. Il cappero è un suffrutice presente nella flora spontanea del Mediterraneo. Nelle isole minori della Sicilia, in particolare a Pantelleria, Salina e di recente anche a Linosa, il cappero si è affermato in coltura specializzata, acquistando una certa importanza sia in termini economici, ma anche sociali ed ambientali. We examine discrimination against women in Italian universities in terms of career advancements for the last 20 years. Data is taken from the MUR archive. Two points are examined: the transition time from assistant professor to associate professor; and the transition time from associate professor to full professor.

Challenges in implementing ICT in career services : perspectives from career development experts

This article reports the findings from a phenomenographic investigation into career development experts’ conceptions of challenges involved in the implementation of information and communication technologies (ICT) in career services. The results show that these challenges varied from (1) inadequate access to ICT, (2) inadequate access to information, and (3) inadequate skills and competencies, to (4) inadequate integration. These findings provide a deeper understanding of critical aspects that may have an important role in the further development and successful implementation of existing and emerging technologies within the guidance service sector. peerReviewed
