Palladium-Catalyzed Direct Arylation of Heteroaromatics with Activated Aryl Chlorides Using a Sterically Relieved Ferrocenyl-Diphosphane

International audience; The palladium-catalyzed direct arylations at C3 or C4 positions of heteroaromatics are known to be more challenging than at C2 or C5 positions. Aryl chlorides are also challenging substrates for direct arylation of heteroaromatics. We observed that in the presence of a palladium-catalyst combining only 0.5 mol % of Pd(OAc)2 with the sterically relieved new ferrocenyl diphosphane Sylphos, the direct arylation at C3 or C4 of oxazoles, a benzofuran, an indole, and a pyrazole was found to proceed in moderate to high yields using a variety of electron deficient aryl chlorides. The article presents the results of studies aimed at evaluating the level of lexicological and lexical competence of middle school students, and the results of a study of school determinants of this competence assessed through surveys, interviews and in‑class observation. Change in body image among depressed adult outpatients after a dance movement therapy group treatment

Abstract This study reports on the body image of depressed psychiatric outpatients, and the impact thereon of a dance movement therapy (DMT) group. Body image is perceived as a tri-partite construct consisting of image-properties, body-self, and body memory. Depressed patients in an outpatient mental health service participated in a DMT group treatment consisting of twelve 90-min long sessions in groups of 4–7 patients. Patients (N = 18) responded to a structured Body Image Assessment (BIA) before and after the treatment. Self-Complementary Dimers of Oxalamide-Functionalized Resorcinarene Tetrabenzoxazines

Self‐complementarity is a useful concept in supramolecular chemistry, molecular biology and polymeric systems. Two resorcinarene tetrabenzoxazines decorated with four oxalamide groups were synthesized and characterized. The oxalamide groups possessed self‐complementary hydrogen bonding sites between the carbonyls and amide groups. The self‐complementary nature of the oxalamide groups resulted in self‐included dimeric assemblies. The hydrogen bonding interactions within the tetrabenzoxazines gave rise to the formation of dimers, which were confirmed by single‐crystal X‐ray diffractions analysis and supported by NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. A meta-analysis of the relation between RAN and mathematics.

Several studies have shown that rapid automatized naming (RAN) is a significant predictor of mathematics, but the nature of their relationship remains elusive. Thus, the purpose of this meta-analysis was to estimate the size of their relationship and determine the conditions under which they correlate. We used a random-effects model analysis of data from 38 studies (33 unique samples, 151 correlations, 7,135 participants) to examine the size of the RAN–mathematics relationship and the role of different moderators (i.e., math measure and variable, type of RAN task, math age, study design, and sample characteristics).
