Argumentoinnin keinot S2-oppijoiden teksteissä

Tässä tutkielmassa tarkastellaan yläkoulua käyvien suomi toisena kielenä -oppijoiden argumentoinnin taitoja suhteessa Eurooppalaiseen viitekehykseen (EVK). Tutkielmassa selvitetään, miten eri kielitaitotasoille sijoittuvat S2-oppijat argumentoivat ja vastaavatko heidän argumentointitaitonsa Viitekehyksessä kullekin taitotasolle määriteltyjä kuvauksia. Teoriataustana toimivat Perelmanin ja Olbrechts-Tytecan (1969) sekä Bayerin (2007) argumentointiteoriat. Aineisto koostuu 72:sta vuosina 2010–2011 Jyväskylän yliopiston soveltavan kielentutkimuksen laitoksen DIALUKI-tutkimushankkeessa kerätystä ja taitotasoitetusta mielipidekirjoituksesta. Here, instant messaging as a mode of everyday communication in digital families is taken up for examination. We look, in particular, into the qualities that make WhatsApp an attractive communication tool for extended families: it allows both one-to-one and one-to-many interactions and provides multiple modalities for intergenerational family communication (voice, text, photos and videos). This study investigates whether combining chat discussion and construction of an argument diagram stimulates students to formulate new ideas in practising argumentation. In this study, 16 secondary school students discussed vivisection and gender equality in pairs using both free and structured chat tools. In structured chat, the students selected and completed partial sentences provided by the computer. The inference of causality is a crucial cognitive ability and language processing is no exception: recent research suggests that, across different languages, the human language comprehension system attempts to identify the primary causer of the state of affairs described (the “actor”) quickly and unambiguously (Bornkessel-Schlesewsky and Schlesewsky, 2009). This identification can take place verb-independently based on certain prominence cues (e.g., case, word order, animacy). Here, we present two experiments demonstrating that actor potential is also encoded at the level of individual nouns (a king is a better actor than a beggar).
