The paper explores the interrelations between ethical organisational culture and organisational innovativeness in two different socio-cultural contexts, Finland and Lithuania. According to the Global Innovation Index 2013, Finland ranked 6th and Lithuania 40th in terms of the national capacity to produce innovations. Prior research by Riivari and Lamsa (J Business Ethics 124:1–17, 2014) and Riivari et al. (Eur J Innov Manag 15:310–331, 2012) argues the importance of the ethical dimension of organisational culture in fostering the organisational capacity to innovate. Space-time analysis of GDP disparities among European regions : a Markov chains approach

The purpose of this paper is to study the evolution of the disparities between 138 European regions over the 1980-1995 period. We characterize the regional per capita GDP cross-sectional distribution by means of nonparametric estimations of density functions and we model the growth process as a first-order stationary Markov chain. Spatial effects are then introduced within the Markov chain framework using regional conditioning (Quah, 1996b) and spatial Markov chains (Rey, 2001). The results of the analysis indicate the persistence of regional disparities, a progressive bias toward a poverty trap and the importance of geography to explain the convergence process.

Combined description of N-barN scattering and annihilation with a hadronic model.

A model for the nucleon-antinucleon interaction is presented which is based on meson-baryon dynamics. The elastic part is the {ital G}-parity transform of the Bonn {ital NN} potential. Annihilation into two mesons is described in terms of microscopic baryon-exchange processes including all possible combinations of {pi},{eta},{rho},{omega},{ital a}{sub 0},{ital f}{sub 0},{ital a}{sub 1},{ital f}{sub 1},{ital a}{sub 2},{ital f}{sub 2},{ital K},{ital K}{sup *}. πNscattering in relativistic baryon chiral perturbation theory reexamined

We have analyzed pion-nucleon scattering using the manifestly relativistic covariant framework of infrared regularization up to $\mathcal{O}({q}^{3})$ in the chiral expansion, where $q$ is a generic small momentum. We describe the low-energy phase shifts with a similar quality as previously achieved with heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory, $\sqrt{s}\ensuremath{\lesssim}1.14$ GeV. New values are provided for the $\mathcal{O}({q}^{2})$ and $\mathcal{O}({q}^{3})$ low-energy constants, which are compared with previous determinations. Complexity and Nonlinearity Analysis of the Time Series of Electric Field Intensity

In this work, the conditional entropy (CE) and the method of surrogate data are applied on time series of electric field (EF) intensity to explore their degree of complexity and the possible presence of nonlinear dynamics. The time series were obtained during the wide-band cumulative EF intensity monitoring, performed by one sensor of the Serbian EMF RATEL monitoring system installed in the campus area of the University of Novi Sad, and are re-sampled at one sample per two hours over consecutive time epochs of one month duration. We consider and review the emergence of singular energy densities and field fluctuations at sharp boundaries or point-like field sources in the vacuum. The presence of singular energy densities of a field may be relevant from a conceptual point of view, because they contribute to the self-energy of the system. They should also generate significant gravitational effects. Long-range potentials and electromagnetic polarizabilities

The long-range spin and velocity independent forces of electromagnetic origin which act between any two systems are studied for those cases in which no forces of this type exist to order e 2 . It is shown that they are uniquely determined by the charge, magnetic moment, and polarizabilities of both systems, not only to the dominant order r − n , but also to the next one r −( n +1) . These potentials provide the link between Compton scattering polarizabilities (response to real photons) and classically defined polarizabilities (response to static electromagnetic field). Decreased Electron Transfer Rates of Manganese Porphyrins with Conformational Distortion of the Macrocycle

Slow electron transfer to manganese(iii) porphyrins results when the macrocycle deviates from planarity. This was demonstrated by measuring the kinetics of homogeneous electron transfer from a series of semiquinone radical anions to synthetic manganese porphyrins (shown schematically; R1 =H, Cl, F; R2 =H, F). Three of the four porphyrins studied have nonplanar macrocycles. These results could have implications for the role of manganese in biological electron transfer processes.
