Cultural and creative industries are thought to be a driver for economic growth. During the last decade, research has tried to link higher intensity of these industries with the region's welfare. However, this is a controversial relationship that still needs to be proved. In this article, we build a conceptual framework to help us test the possible causality between regional income generation and employment in the cultural and creative sectors. The school as an institution assumes that students' grades are constituted by their assessments. This paper examines the background of this presupposition and provides a micro-analytical perspective of the grading practice of teachers in German High Schools (Gymnasium). This paper conceptualises the theoretical framework of the research in educational measurement in discussion. This paper aims to chart how the Basque writer Pío Baroja’s attitude as an intellectual evolved over the final years of the nineteenth and the early decades of the twentieth century, at a time when a new ‘social subject’ was emerging and becoming consolidated in Spain. It therefore analyses Baroja’s thought in relation to two of the topics of greatest concern to Spanish and European intellectuals of the day: the relationship of the individual to the mass and intellectuals’ attitude to democracy.

This article, differentiating between factual and normative values, investigates the links between national culture and entrepreneurial activity in 24 countries based on 154 observations. We test hypotheses on the relationship between national culture—measured by Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness (GLOBE)—and nascent entrepreneurship as represented by Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM). AbstractThis article aims to present preliminary data to validate and show the effectiveness of the educational programme Thinking emotions with a sample of children aged two years. To test its effectiveness, a sample of 57 children was selected. The sample was divided into experimental group (N = 38) and control group (N = 19). Participants were evaluated for overall development (Brunet-Lezine) and emotional understanding through two tests (AKT and TEC) before and after the implementation of the programme in the classroom. ‘Teachers see nothing’ : exploring students’ and teachers’ perspectives on school bullying with a new arts-based methodology

Even though bullying is a perennial problem, there are still significant gaps in the research. The sensitive nature of the issue prompted us to develop and test a new arts-based method – a set of incomplete, problem-focused comic strips that were given to the participants for creative completion and were subsequently used as individualised interview prompts. The study took place in Russia with 14 teachers and 39 school children. The findings indicated that students and teachers agreed that instances of bullying should not be reported.
