Taideväärennöksiä on aiemmissa tutkielmissa käsitelty lähinnä tapaustutkimusmaisesti yksittäisten ajanjaksojen tai tapausten pohjalta. Kokonaisvaltaista tutkimusta Suomessa esiintyvistä taideväärennöksistä ei ole tehty eikä nykyisen tutkimustiedon pohjalta voida luoda kokonaisvaltaista kuvaa siitä, keiden taiteilijoiden teoksia Suomessa väärennetään, miltä ajanjaksolta väärennetyt teokset ovat ja millaisia teokset ovat esimerkiksi aihepiiriltään tai tekniikaltaan. Tutkimus käsittelee Ateneumin taidemuseossa sijaitsevaa taiteidenvälistä esiintymistilaa, Ateneum-salia, jonka ohjelmistoprofiili keskittyy nykykulttuurin esittelyyn esimerkiksi musiikin ja esittävän taiteen kautta. Vuonna 1991 toimintansa aloittaneen Ateneum-salin taustalla vaikuttavat museopedagogiset tavoitteet. Erilaisten taiteidenvälisten esitysten kautta museokävijöille pyritään tarjoamaan uudenlaisia kokemuksia ja esimerkiksi mahdollisuus tutustua myös muihin taiteenlajeihin kuvataiteeseen keskittyvässä taidemuseossa. Red list of threatened vascular plants in Italy

Italy has a rich natural heritage, which is dangerously under pressure. In recent years, there is an increased awareness of the crucial role of plants in ecosystem functioning and in providing ecosystem services. Consequently, an updated Red List of the Italian vascular flora was compiled in this work, at the request of the Ministry for Environment, Land and Sea Protection, with the scientific support of the Italian Botanical Society. The IUCN Red List criteria were applied to 2,430 Italian native vascular plant taxa to assess their current extinction risk and to highlight the major threats affecting the Italian flora. IDPlanT: the Italian database of plant translocation

IDPlanT is the Italian Database of Plant Translocation, an initiative of the Nature Conservation Working Group of the Italian Botanical Society. IDPlanT currently includes 185 plant translocations. The establishment of a national database on plant translocation is a key step forward in data sharing and techniques improvement in this field of plant conservation. Verifying the predicted risk of extinction based on ecological characteristics

Red List status of species should reflect species extinction risk. Because data are limited and species response has a time lag, species may be threatened by extinction even if they are not Red‐Listed. The ability to predict species risk of extinction from ecological characteristics holds promises for proactively targeting conservation measures to species at high risk. In 2005, the risk of extinction from ecological characteristics was predicted for 81 species of Finnish butterflies. Aposematism in the burying beetle? Dual function of anal fluid in parental care and chemical defence

Burying beetles (Nicrophorus vespilloides) bear distinctive and variable orange-black patterning on their elytra and produce an anal exudate from their abdomen when threatened. During breeding, the anal exudates contribute to the antimicrobial defence of the breeding resource. We investigated whether the anal exudates also provide a responsive chemical defence, which is advertised to potential avian predators by the beetle’s orange and black elytral markings. We found that that the orange-black elytral markings of the burying beetle are highly conspicuous for avian predators against range of backgrounds, by using computer simulations.
