In the twentieth century, in the understanding and practice of the penance sac rament and reconciliation in the Catholic Church, it was reminded clearly that apart from the judgement dimension, it also has an important healing aspect. Tekstuāla un vizuālā semiotika Iana Makjūena romānā "Piedošana" un tā ekranizācijā

Šī maģistra darbs ir veltīts pētījumam par Iana Makjuana (Ian McEwan) romāna "Piedošana" (‘Atonement’) semiotiskājiem elementiem, kurus režisors Džo Raits (Joe Wright) vēlāk pārnesa uz ekrāna. Darbs koncentrējas uz teksta oriģināla un tā adaptācijas kinofilmā salīdzinājumu, pētot gan teksta, gan vizuālo attēlojumu no semiotiskās perspektīvas. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt teksta kinematogrāfiskos atveidojumus, novērtēt tekstuālo un vizuālo zīmju atšķirības un līdzības, kā arī veikt identificēto semiotisko elementu salīdzinošo analīzi un to turpmāko interpretāciju. How does the film adaptation of Atonement by Joe Wright find original ways to adapt what lies at the core of the novel by Ian McEwan—the ins and outs of writing? The film endeavours to transfer, cinematically or not, the metafictional and definitely postmodern dimensions in McEwan's story. Wright first works on point of view, sticking to young Briony's in the first part and elaborating on her re-vision and revisiting of events the meaning of which she thinks she can grasp.
