Digital gaming attracts people of all ages. Nevertheless, professional esports (also known as electronic sports, e-sports, or eSports) is dominated by under 35 year olds. In this paper, e-sports market is analysed by focusing on the performance of different age-groups. Younger generations play more digital games and dominate e-sports scene, but also older people enjoy playing various video games. Two separate datasets are analysed for testing whether age is a statistically significant explanatory variable for success in professional e-sports tournaments. In this article I describe the results of a questionnaire survey done on non-dominant language writers in Finland, and reflect this on the criteria by which a professional artist has been traditionally defined in Finland. The background data consists of reports and studies on artists' social standing conducted by Arts Promotion Center Finland, Cupore and the Finnish Writers' Union.

Elämässä selviytymistä on tarkasteltu selvittämällä, poikkesiko tutkittavien elämä aikakauden ei-kasvattilapsitaustaisten ihmisten tyypillisestä elämästä. Elämässä selviytyminen on määritelty tutkittavien aikakauden olosuhteiden mukaan. Tässä Pro gradu –tutkielmassa selvitettiin uusiutuviin energialähteisiin perustuvien lämmitysjärjestelmien ja myös piensähköntuotannon toimivuutta maatilakohteissa. Työssä käytiin läpi yleisimmät pientaloissa käytettävät kaupalliseen kehitysvaiheeseen päässeet teknologiat, kuten biopolttokattilat, maa- ja ilmalämpöpumput, biokaasulaitteet, pientuuliturbiinit, aurinkosähköpaneelit ja aurinkolämpökeräimet.
