Bakalaura darba “Seriāla “13 iemesli kāpēc” (“13 Reasons Why”) naratīva analīze un ietekme uz auditoriju” mērķis ir izpētīt seriāla naratīva struktūru un noskaidrot tā ietekmi uz auditoriju. Lai to paveiktu, tika izmantota naratīva analīze, ar ko pētīts seriāla saturs, un fokusa grupas diskusija, kur tika apspriestas dalībnieku sajūtas un efekti pēc seriāla noskatīšanās. Darba teorētiskajā daļā apskatīts naratīva jēdziens, pievēršot uzmanību audiovizuālam naratīvam, kā arī seriālu naratīva aspektiem. Tāpat tika apskatīti arī mediju efekti uz auditoriju. We investigated the longitudinal associations of blood pressure, cardiorespiratory fitness, and arterial stiffness among children. Arterial stiffening has been repeatedly shown to be a cardiovascular mortality predictor and can be observed early in childhood. As such, it is crucial to understand whether a child’s blood pressure, fitness level, and body composition can predict early signs of atherosclerosis and arterial stiffening. Lynch syndrome (LS) is the most common hereditary cancer syndrome. Early diagnosis improves prognosis and reduces health care costs, through existing cancer surveillance methods. The problem is finding and diagnosing the cancer predisposing genetic condition. The current workup involves a complex array of tests that combines family cancer history and clinical phenotypes with tumor characteristics and sequencing data, followed by a challenging task to interpret the found variant(s). Matilaisen väitöstutkimuksen tavoitteena oli kehittää bakulovirusta käytettäväksi geeniterapiaan syövän hoitoon. Bakulovirus on hyönteisvirus ja siten turvallisempi vaihtoehto kokeellisessa geeniterapiassa tällä hetkellä käytettäville patogeenisille viruksille tai niiden muunnelmille.Matilainen tutki myös virusten ja käytettyjen kohdennuspeptidien sisääntulomekanismeja ihmisen syöpäsoluihin. Tutkimuksessa löydettiin mahdollisesti bakuloviruksen uusi vaihtoehtoinen sisääntuloreitti.
