Nel Meridione d’Italia e in particolare in Sicilia detto compito era affidato alla “fossa della neve”. In generale trattasi di un ambiente ipogeo nel quale veniva conservata la neve, per essere, nella sua maggiore quantità, utilizzata, nella tarda primavera e nella torrida stagione estiva, per la produzione di gelati e bevande fresche. This essay follows fits into an ongoing project dedicated to highlighting the rhetorical and ideological representations of food and wine in cinema It carries out a semiotic analysis of the film A good year (by Ridley Scott, with the aim of identifying the role that wine plays in it and in the touristic imaginary about it. The essay pursues this goal by facing the issue of authenticity in tour ism as posed by Culler and by reconstructing the implicit aesthetic and touristic theory on which the film may be positioned. Scientific studies for the restauration of two wooden arm reliquaries from the Cathedral of Palermo

Dedicated to Saint Generosi and Saint Rosana, the reliquary arms, recalling the shape of a body part, are today located in the Relics Chapel in Palermo Cathedral. They are probably dated to the second half of the 18th century and are attributed to an unknown artist. The aims of this study were to investigate the decorative techniques, verify the state of conservation of the constitutive materials, measure the microclimate condition in the Relics Chapel, in order to set up a correct preventive conservation strategy.
