Siirtymätilassa : autoetnografinen tutkimus kirjoittajan matkasta proosan pariin

Tarkastelen artikkelissa siirtymätilaa kahden eri kirjoittamisen lajin välillä autoetnografian keinoin. Aineistona on tutkimusprosessin ajan pitämäni työpäiväkirja, jota analysoin temaattisella sisällönanalyysilla. Siirtymätilan lisäksi olen kuvannut työpäiväkirjan merkitystä, havaintojen tekemistä ja työpäiväkirjassa välittyvää mielen näyttämöä. Tutkimus tuo keskusteluun yhden näkökulman siitä, missä mieli ja huomio askaroivat siirtymätilan aikana ja mikä helpottaa lajin muutosta ja itselle uudenlaiseen kirjoittamisen tilaan pääsemistä. peerReviewed
An In-between Reader : Situatedness and Belonging in Tove Jansson’s Helsinki

Finnish-Swedish artist and writer Tove Jansson (1914–2001), widely known as the author of the Moomin books, was born in Helsinki and resided there for the greater part of her life. The city features as a setting for her adult-oriented fiction – notably, semi-autobiographical fix-up novels Sculptor’s Daughter (1968/2015) and Fair Play (1989/2011). This article adopts a situated approach to literary geography, examining the researcher’s own position as a Helsinki resident and a ‘situated’ reader. Tutkin pienyrittämistä ja pienyrittäjää vuosina 1987-1994, jolloin Suomi nousi kasinotalouden aallonharjalle, viipyi siellä hetken ennen syöksymistään laman kurimukseen. Toimin tuona aikana yrittäjänä ja kirjoitin kokemuksistani omaelämkerrallisen tarinan. Tarinani on osa aineistoani. Käyn sen avulla dialogia yrittäjyystutkimuksen, aikaa koskevan tutkimuksen ja kirjoittelun kanssa. Tarkastelen yrittäjyyttä sen sisältä näkökulman kuitenkin avautuessa ulos yhteiskuntaan. In this article, we report a case study of our experiences of a curriculum reform process based on the principles of phenomenon-based learning in higher education in the context of Finnish teacher education. We explore how democracy and participation were present in the decision making process, highlighting the challenges of promoting the phenomenon-based approach and collaboration. In this article, we introduce our special issue, “International students’ lived experiences in the era unprecedented uncertainty and challenges: New voices from intersectional identities.” Our motivation and intention for this special issue, the focus, and the overall methodological approach are discussed. In addition to presenting the contributions of each article to this issue, we also discuss what we (all authors of this special issue) try to talk and how our voices are reflecting our unique experiences of coming to the new counties and leaving where we lived as international students by unfolding our stories and multiple identities that are intersecting while we experienced.

The starting point of the study is the work counselling process taking place in the induction phase of the students’ teaching career. The work counselling process consists of activities that support and strengthen the students’ teacher hood and their primary function as teachers by helping them to analyse their work and to attach to working life as newly graduated teachers. Tämä tutkimus käsittelee massiivisesti monipelattavan netti rooli-peli World of Warcratin pelaamisen ajallisia ja paikallisia rajoja fenomenologisella ja autoetnografisella lähestymistavalla. Tutkimus selvittää tapahtuuko pelaaminen taikapiirin sisällä ja voidaanko taikapiirin rajojen katsoa olevan samat kuin itse digitaalisen pelin. Taikapiiri on Johan Huizingan (1938) määrittämä konsepti ja sen mukaan pelin ja leikin kokemus on ajallisesti ja tilallisesti muusta ympäristöstä rajattua aktiviteettia.
