The baculovirus expression vector system (BEVS) has been widely used to produce a large number of recombinant proteins, and is becoming one of the most powerful, robust, and cost-effective systems for the production of eukaryotic proteins. Functional display of an alpha2 integrin-specific motif (RKK) on the surface of baculovirus particles.

The use of baculovirus vectors shows promise as a tool for gene delivery into mammalian cells. These insect viruses have been shown to transduce a variety of mammalian cell lines, and gene transfer has also been demonstrated in vivo. In this study, we generated two recombinant baculovirus vectors displaying an integrin-specific motif, RKK, as a part of two different loops of the green fluorescent protein (GFP) fused with the major envelope protein gp64 of Autographa californica M nucleopolyhedrovirus. Darbā izolētas baktērijas no dažādu rožu dzimtas augļkopības kultūru augu lapām, kuras identificētas ar 16S rRNS gēna sekvenēšanas metodi. Izmantojot šīs baktērijas kā saimniekkultūras, tika izolēti 10 jauni dsDNS bakteriofāgi. Vēlāk ar Cedecea davisae baktēriju izolātu kā saimnieku no notekūdeņu paraugiem tika izolēti vēl 13 fāgi. Tālākai izpētei tika izvēlēts jaunizdalītais Cedecea fāgs Yanou. Fāgs Yanou ir Autographiviridae dzimtai, Teseptimavirus ģintij piederošs lītisks podovīruss ar 40865 bp garu genomu. Host-range expansion of Spodoptera exigua multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus to Agrotis segetum larvae when the midgut is bypassed.

Given the high similarity in genome content and organization between Spodoptera exigua multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus (SeMNPV) and Agrotis segetum nucleopolyhedrovirus (AgseNPV), as well as the high percentages of similarity found between their 30 core genes, the specificity of these NPVs was analysed for the respective insect hosts, S. exigua and A. segetum. The LD(50) for AgseNPV in second-instar A. segetum larvae was 83 occlusion bodies per larva and the LT(50) was 8.1 days. AgseNPV was orally infectious for S. exigua, but the LD(50) was 10 000-fold higher than for SeMNPV. Morphological characterization of baculovirus Autographa californica multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus

The budded form of baculovirus Autographa californica multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus is used widely in biotechnological applications. In this study, we observed the morphology of baculovirus in nanometer scale by atomic force microscopy. Additionally, the correlation between transduction efficiency and virus stock storage time was evaluated. By atomic force microscopy, asymmetrical baculovirus particles with enlarged head regions were detected. Observed virus stocks contained variable-length particles, 256 ± 40 nm, along with disintegrated particles and/or cellular components. Baculovirus capsid display: a novel tool for transduction imaging

Baculoviruses are enveloped insect viruses that can carry large quantities of foreign DNA in their genome. Baculoviruses have proved to be very promising gene therapy vectors but little is known about their transduction mechanisms in mammalian cells. We show in this study that Autographa californica multiple nuclear polyhedrosis virus capsid is compatible with the incorporation of desired proteins in large quantities. Baculoviral display of functional scFv and synthetic IgG-binding domains.

Viral vectors displaying specific ligand binding moities such as scFv fragments or intact antibodies hold promise for the development of targeted gene therapy vectors. In this report we describe baculoviral vectors displaying either functional scFv fragments or the synthetic Z/ZZ IgG binding domain derived from protein A.
