Abstract Importance: Because multiple sclerosis (MS) affects many life areas, it is important to know how participation and autonomy are associated with the perceived impact of MS on everyday life. Objective: To investigate how perceived quality of life, disease impact, gender, and disease severity predict participation and autonomy in people with MS. Autonomy and Workload in Relation to Temporary and Permanent Workers’ Job Involvement

The aim of the study was to investigate contract type (temporary vs. permanent employment) as a possible moderator in the relationship between autonomy and workload on the one hand, and job involvement on the other hand in samples from two countries: Belgium and Finland. The results on possible interactions were similar in the two countries. Contract type moderated the relationship between autonomy and job involvement: The relationship was stronger in permanent than in temporary workers. No moderation was found for workload. Gendered Agency and Emotions in the Field of Care Work

This article examines the gendered effects of the intensification of public sector care work due to neoliberal reforms. It draws on an interview study of Finnish social and healthcare workers to argue that the expectations towards men and women in the reorganized field of care work are different, especially in the case of their emotional involvement in care practices. The article develops a conceptual framework based on Bourdieu’s theory of practice and its feminist developments. The effects of job stressors on marital satisfaction in Finnish dual-earner couples

The focus on the present study was to test a mediational model appropriate for explaining the effects of psychosocial job stressors, i.e., job insecurity, job autonomy, time pressures at work, leadership relations and work–family conflict, on marital satisfaction via job exhaustion and psychosomatic health. The study was carried out among 215 married or cohabiting dual-earner couples. The proposed model was tested through structural equation analysis (LISREL). The study focuses on the relationship between perceived team autonomy and company performance through highlighting organizational commitment as a mediating factor in this relationship.
