2008
The authors update the knowledge of genus Steropleurus in Libya, reporting new records of S. innocentii innocentii and S. filenorum, and describing a new species, S. ientilei, from Cyrenaica.
Surijoka Lutevensis nov. sp.: The first glosselytrodea (insecta) from the upper permian of France (Lodève basin)
2001
Abstract Surijoka lutevensis nov. sp. is described from the upper part of the Salagou Formation (Saxonian Group, Lodeve basin). This new taxon is described after a complete forewing of a Glosselytrodea: Jurinidae. This is the first record of this order in the french Permian. Surijoka lutevensis nov. sp. is very close to the type species Surijoka grandicella Martynova , 1958 from the Kazanian of the Kuznetsk Basin, Russia. We discuss on the wing veins homology, and propose a subsequent new wing vein nomenclature and new hypotheses on the phylogenetic relationships of the Glosselytrodea. The family Permoberothidae is excluded from this order and transferred into the Mecopterida, close to the …
Taxonomy and palaeobiogeography of the Cenozoic Euro-Mediterranean rissoid gastropod Galeodinopsis and its relationship with close genera
2014
The investigation of the Late Paleogene to Late Neogene species of rissoid gastropod Galeodinopsis in the Euro-Mediterranean area has supported the hypothesis that this genus is an intermediate form between two well-known rissoids, Alvinia and Manzonia. We recognized four species of Galeodinopsis: G. biangulata, G. germanica sp. nov., G. semperi (new name for Rissoa duboisii), and G. tiberiana. The oldest (very Late Eocene/Oligocene) representatives of Galeodinopsis, G. biangulata, and G. semperi, share similar shell shape and microsculpture with Alvinia. This suggests that Galeodinopsis originated from some Eocene species related to Alvinia. The new species represents the first occurrence …
Chromosome numbers of severalLamiaceae from Spain
1998
Chromosome numbers of twenty taxa, almost all of them Iberian endemics, of the generaTeucrium, Sideritis, Thymus andSalvia are reported. New chromosome numbers are given for the following taxa:Teucrium homotrichum (2n=78),T. hifacense (2n=26),T. rivasii (2n=26),T. rivas-martinezii (2n=26),Sideritis edetana (2n=30),S. murgetana subsp.littoralis (2n=28), and the hybridS. xviciosoi (2n=27). The first count on Iberian material forSalvia pratensis (2n=18) is reported. Chromosome numbers have been confirmed for the rest of the taxa studied on material from SE Spain. Karyotype analyses and taxonomic remarks are included.

Pretarsal structures in the family Cydnidae sensu lato (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomoidea)
2010
New data on the pretarsus in Cydnidae sensu lato are presented; 56 species of 38 genera are studied based on the SEM techniques. Pretarsal structures in Cydnidae s.l. are demonstrated to be not uniform; some are typically pentatomoid, and some are atypical for Pentatomoidea. Structures associated with the unguitractor plate, described for the first time by Weirauch (2005) in Reduviidae, and not reported for Cydnidae s.l. in the past, are described for the first time.
An analysis of inter- and intraspecific genetic variabilities in theKluyveromyces marxianusgroup of yeast species for the reconsideration of theK. la…
2002
In the present work, we analyse the sequences of the 5.8S rRNA gene and the two internal transcribed spacers 1 and 2 (5.8S-ITS region), obtained from 39 strains belonging to the species Kluyveromyces aestuarii, K. dobzhanskii, K. lactis and K. marxianus, K. nonfermentans and K. wickerhamii, to solve the phylogenetic relationships among these species and also to determine the possible genetic basis for the delimitation of the two currently accepted K. lactis varieties: lactis, including lactose-positive strains isolated from dairy products, and drosophilarum, comprising lactose-negative strains isolated from insects and plant exudates. The determination of the phylogenetic relationships with…
Molecular phylogeny, biogeographic history, and evolution of cave-dwelling taxa in the European harvestman genusIschyropsalis(Opiliones: Dyspnoi)
2015
Abstract We estimated a multigenic molecular phylogeny and reconstructed biogeographic history for the European harvestman genus Ischyropsalis C.L. Koch 1839 (Dyspnoi). To reconstruct historical biogeographic patterns we conducted an algorithmic VIP analysis which revealed patterns consistent with a vicariance-dominated history. The existing morphology-based systematic framework for Ischyropsalis is mostly inconsistent with molecular phylogenetic results, and a new informal system is established that recognizes three main clades and several sub-clades. Species-level analyses revealed two non-monophyletic species (I. pyrenaea Simon 1872 and I. luteipes Simon 1872); subspecies of I. pyrenaea …
Toward a Phylogenetic Classification of the Lauraceae: Evidence from matK Sequences
2000
Abstract The larger part of the matK gene and the (3′−) adjacent spacer have been sequenced and used for phylogenetic analyses in 48 species of Lauraceae from all parts of their geographical range, and in three outgroup taxa. Except for the aberrant genera Hypodaphnis and Cassytha, the genetic divergence within the family is surprisingly low. In spite of this, several clades receive sufficient support to change our current concepts of relationships within the family. Particularly well supported is a Beilschmiedia–Cryptocarya clade that had been recognized by wood anatomy, but not in most of the recent morphological systems. The separation between taxa with involucrate and non-involucrate in…
