Another New Riparian Dendrobatid Frog Species from the Upper Amazon Basin of Peru
2003
A new dendrobatid frog of the genus Colostethus is described from the Cordillera El Sira, an isolated mountain ridge in the upper Amazon basin of central Peru. It has bright yellowish dorsolateral stripes thus resembling Colostethus exasperatus, Colostethus sp. (cf. exasperatus), and Colostethus nexipus, all from the upper Amazon basin of Ecuador and Peru. In morphology, the new species is most similar to Colostethus mcdiarmidi from the eastern Andean slopes of Bolivia and Colostethus alessandroi from the eastern Andean slopes of Peru. The new species can be distinguished from all these taxa on the basis of coloration including the color of the ring around pupil in life, adult male size, le…
Pilosella argyrogaliciana, P. argyrolegionensis and P. megargyrocoma (Asteraceae): three new species from the Cantabrian Mountains (N. Spain)
2013
In this paper, we describe three new species of Pilosella ( Asteraceae ) from the Cantabrian Mountains (N Spain): P. argyrogaliciana Mateo & Egido, P. argyrolegionensis Mateo & Egido and P. megargyrocoma Mateo & Egido. All of them are intermediate species of P. argyrocoma , endemic to the S, C and NW Iberian Peninsula and N Africa. For each species, we provide a detailed description, together with a discussion and a table with the diagnostic morphological characters used to separate these species from their morphologically closest species. We also provide images of type material.
Taxonomic uncertainty and a continental conundrum:Polypodium macaronesicumreassessed
2014
Data from the chloroplast trnL-F region are used to test the delimitation of putative diploid species in the Polypodium cambricum aggregate. In particular, we investigate the distinctiveness of the Macaronesian Polypodium macaronesicum, P. azoricum and the continental P. cambricum, investigate molecular diversity patterns within Macaronesia and establish the identity of putative P. macaronesicum material collected from an area in southern Spain, where it co-occurs with other Macaronesian elements. The analysis supports the distinction of Macaronesian and continental plants, with accessions from Macaronesia resolved as monophyletic. Greater haplotype diversity was found in Macaronesia than o…
Pseudonapomyza mediterranean. sp. (Diptera: Agromyzidae) from Salt Marshes in Spain
2010
ABSTRACT: Description, ecological aspects of biology and systematic position of Pseudonapomyza mediterranea, a new species from Spain (“Lagunas de la Mata-Torrevieja” Natural Park) are given.
Taxonomy and evolution of the Triassic conodont Pseudofurnishius
2013
Pseudofurnishius is a late Anisian (Pelsonian)—early Carnian (Cordevolian) conodont genus of gondolellid stock, characteristic for the Sephardic Province and restricted to the “Southern Tethys” region of the northern margin of Gondwana. Its most commonly found species, Pseudofurnishius murcianus, appears at the base of the Ladinian (Fassanian). The Ladinian material of Spain reveals its ontogeny characterised by initial lateral protrusions from the carina that may develop first mono-platform and later bi-platform units, finally evolving into elaborated multi-denticulated forms. The late Anisian—early Carnian phylogenesis of Pseudofurnishius priscus → P. shagami → P. murcianus is proposed. A…
Discussion about the stratigraphic range of "Pseudofurnishius murcianus" van den Boogaard (Conodonta) in the Iberian Peninsula, from the Calasparra s…
2011
The biostratigraphy of Calasparra Section is well-estabished with an ammonoid biozonation and ranges from Lower to Upper Ladinian. The continuous presence of Pseudofurnishius murcianus van den Boogaard, a characteristic conodont species of the Sephardic realm, along the section makes it one of the most important sections in the Iberian Peninsula for the study of the species. The first apparition of P. murcianus in the section corresponds with the first of Eoprotrachyceras curionii taxon, which is the principal marker for the base of the Ladinian stage in the GSSP of the Anisian-Ladinian boundary, and the age of the youngest conodonts, based on ammonoids (Epigonus Zone) is Lower Ladinian (up…
El género Lysaphidus (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) en la Península Ibérica
1995
The genus Lysaphidus Smith, 1944 (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Aphidiinae) is recorded for the first time from the Iberian Peninsula represented by two species: L. arvensis Stary, 1960, first record for the Iberian Peninsula, and L. santolinae n. sp., both of them parasitoids of Coloradoa Wilson,1910 genus (Homoptera, Aphididae). The mummies were collected on Santolina chamaecyparissus L. and Santolina rosmarinifolia L. (Asteraceae).
A new species of Armeria (Plumbaginaceae) from southern Spain with molecular and morphometric evidence on its origin

Taxonomic Revision of the Genus Trictenotoma Gray, 1832 (Coleoptera: Trictenotomidae). Part 3 – Species from the Philippine Archipelago, with Descrip…
2021
The species of Trictenotoma Grey, 1832 from the Philippine Archipelago are critically assessed, description of T. boudanti Drumont et Telnov sp. nov. from Balabac and Palawan, and a redescription of T. cindarellaKriesche, 1921 from Mindanao are provided. A key to the Philippine Trictenotomidae Blanchard, 1845 is presented for the first time.
Rare and threatened pondweed communities in anthropogenic water bodies of Opole Silesia (SW Poland)
2011
The paper presents results of geobotanic studies conducted in anthropogenic water bodies like excavation ponds, fish culture ponds, other ponds, dam reservoirs, ditches, channels and recreational pools incl. watering places in Opole Silesia and surroundings in the years 2002-2005. The research focused on occurrence of threatened and rare pondweed communities. As the result of the investigations of several dozen of water bodies, 28 localities of rare pondweed communities were documented by 75 phytosociological relevés. Associations of Potametum trichoidis J. et R Tx. in R. Tx. 1965, Potametum praelongi Sauer 1937, P. alpini Br.-B…
