Maria Lassila-Merisalo kartoitti väitöstutkimuksessaan suomalaista kaunokirjallista journalismia, joka perustuu faktapohjaisen materiaalin esittämiseen fiktiolle tyypillisten kerrontakeinojen avulla. Hän havaitsi, että lajin kriteerit täyttävää journalismia on harjoitettu maassamme hyvinkin mainitsemisen arvoisesti, mutta ei kovin yhtenäisesti saati organisoidusti. Small-molecule fluorophores enable the observation of biomolecules in their native context with fluorescence microscopy. Specific labeling via bio-orthogonal tetrazine chemistry combines minimal label size with rapid labeling kinetics. At the same time, fluorogenic tetrazine–dye conjugates exhibit efficient quenching of dyes prior to target binding. However, live-cell compatible long-wavelength fluorophores with strong fluorogenicity have been difficult to realize. Pellets based on polyuronates: Relationship between gelation and release properties

International audience; Three polyuronates: amidated low methoxyl pectin (ALMP), low methoxyl pectin (LMP) and polygalacturonic acid (PGA) were used to encapsulate rutin in pellets, and they were characterized by different techniques (macroscopic properties, Calcium and rutin release). The ability of the three polyuronates to bind calcium ions and the viscoelastic properties of gels were performed to relate the properties of the pellets to the gel structures. The pellets size, the water content, the water uptake, the release of calcium and rutin varied depending on the polyuronate used. Possibility of using NiCO2O4 alloy as catalyst for fuel electrode of hydrazine fuel cell

The work presents a possibility of the use of NiCo2O4 alloys as catalysts for electrooxidation of hydrazine. The research was done by the method of polarizing cuvers of electrooxidation of hydrazine in glass vessel in aqueous solution of KOH, on electrode with NiCo2O4 alloy as a catalyst. Conducted measurements show that there is a possibility of electrooxidation of hydrazine on NiCo2O4 electrode. The current density is low, but the price of the catalyst is much lower than platinum.

Szerokie stosowanie ogniw paliwowych ograniczone jest głównie wykorzystywaniem drogich katalizatorów. Wyeliminowanie platyny umożliwiłoby szeroką komercjalizację tych ogniw. Artykuł przedstawia analizę elektroutleniania hydrazyny na katalizatorze NiCo2O4. Jako elektrolit wykorzystano wodny roztwór KOH. Pomiarów dokonano potencjostatem. Wykazano możliwość elektroutleniania hydrazyny na katalizatorze NiCo2O4. W każdym przypadku (dla wszystkich stężeń hydrazyny i udziałów Co) proces elektroutleniania zachodził. Abstract Imatinib mesylate (imatinib), a competitive inhibitor of the BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase, is highly effective against chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) cells. However, because 20–30% of patients affected by CML display either primary or secondary resistance to imatinib, intentional activation of Vγ9Vδ2 T cells by phosphoantigens or by agents that cause their accumulation within cells, such as zoledronate, may represent a promising strategy for the design of a novel and highly innovative immunotherapy capable to overcome imatinib resistance. Eye-color mutants of Drosophila melanogaster have been analyzed for their pigment content and related metabolites. Xanthommatin and dihydroxanthommatin (pigments causing brown eye color) were measured after selective extraction in acidified butanol. Pteridines (pigments causing red eye color) were quantitated after separation of 28 spots by thin-layer chromatography, most of which are pteridines and a few of which are fluorescent metabolites from the xanthommatin pathway. Pigment patterns have been studied in 45 loci. The pteridine pathway ramifies into two double branches giving rise to isoxanthopterin, “drosopterins,” and biopterin as final products. Although most patients with ulcerative colitis should be given topical treatment, different studies have shown that they are underused in clinical practice. The purpose of this article is to answer 10 specific questions about which drugs are available for topical use in the treatment of ulcerative colitis, and their characteristics in terms of formulation, dosage, presentation, application and proximal distribution of rectal-administered drugs.
