SMOS-IC: An Alternative SMOS Soil Moisture and Vegetation Optical Depth Product

The main goal of the Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) mission over land surfaces is the production of global maps of soil moisture (SM) and vegetation optical depth (τ) based on multi-angular brightness temperature (TB) measurements at L-band. The operational SMOS Level 2 and Level 3 soil moisture algorithms account for different surface effects, such as vegetation opacity and soil roughness at 4 km resolution, in order to produce global retrievals of SM and τ. En este trabajo se han utilizado datos de las Pruebas de Acceso a la Universidad realizadas entre 2010 y 2012 en la Universidad de Valencia para analizar la distribución de estudiantes según las diferentes modalidades de Bachillerato, así como según las diferentes áreas del conocimiento de las titulaciones universitarias ofrecidas por esta universidad a las que acceden los estudiantes que han cursado la modalidad de Bachillerato de “Ciencias y Tecnología”. Los estudiantes de “Ciencias y Tecnología” suponen un 38.3% del total, y este porcentaje disminuye un 3.7% durante el periodo de estudio. The last years have seen a growing interest in underwater acoustic communications because of its applications in marine research, oceanography, marine commercial operations, the offshore oil industry and defense. High-speed communication in the underwater acoustic channel has been challenging because of limited bandwidth, extended multipath, refractive properties of the medium, severe fading, rapid time variation and large Doppler shifts. Many strongly correlated Fermi systems including heavy-fermion (HF) metals and high-Tc superconductors belong to that class of quantum many-body systems for which Landau Fermiliquid (LFL) theory fails. Instead, these systems exhibit non-Fermi-liquid properties that arise from violation of time-reversal (T) and particle-hole (C) invariance. Measurements of tunneling conductance provide a powerful experimental tool for detecting violations of these basic symmetries inherent to LFLs, which guarantee that the measured differential conductivity dI/dV, where I is the current and V the bias voltage, is a symmetric function of V. Erityisesti tutkin grafeenin alihilasymmetrian rikkoutumisen vaikutuksia grafiitissa lisäämällä heilahtelevan potentiaalin α grafeenin tight-binding -malliin. Synthesis and characterization of a novel high luminescent gold-2-mercapto-1-methyl-imidazole complex

Synthesis and characterization of a new gold-2-mercapto-1-methyl imidazole are reported. This new organic material shows an extraordinary fluorescence activity (superfluorescence) up to 220°C with an unusual quantum yield of 0.2. Both fluorescence and NMR spectroscopy were applied to understand the behavior of the gold-2-mercapto-1-methylimidazole complex. Results suggest that the superfluorescence activity can be attributed to the shrinking of the HOMO-LUMO band gap energy following complexation of the organic imidazole system with gold.
